My Ayling, you do raise some points, but you could hardly be classed as impartial.boxingchat wrote:Why is it when fighters such as Nigel Benn and Chris Eubank leave Barry Hearn there is no scandal, despite both commenting that they were 'screwed' - at least half a dozen top snooker players left him also citing mismanagement.
In fact, if you compare their records more sportsmen have left Barry Hearn than have ever left allegedly and with much less money in their pockets too.
How many Boxing millionaires has Hearn made? Eubank? Benn? I can't think of any more and hardly a comparison to Warren whose list would go into double figures.
However, when Khan leaves Warren, after his contarct has expired, it's a great scandal and people expect skullduggery. This is just another example of Anti-Warren bile on Boxrec.
So, Mr McNeilly what is the "definative fight of the last 30 years" that Hearn promoted?
Surely you are not referring to Benn V Eubank 2? The one he co-promoted with Don King and allegedly because they were the only two who could raise the TV money needed to stage it in the first place?
The same fight where Nigel Benn sacked the halo-wearing Hearn the day before the show for trying to screw him by not paying the WBO sanction fee so that he couldn't win it and Eubank wouldn't lose it regardless of the result. The same one where he scarpered off afterwards due to the draw rather than go forward with the unification package he had agreed with his partners FW and DK and thus deprieved the fans of some great fights.
You lot don't really know what you are talking about. Even Spud has a better view on things than most these days.
And tell Fwank, what was with the 'tear in the eye' Sun column? We are more accustomed to bitter rants
And ask him about 'loyalty', will he ever pay Joe Calzaghe?
