I find it more shocking that people take what they read in the papers(yes all of them) as fact when the whole agenda of a newspaper is to sell copies, each one panders towards a certain type of crowd from the working class to the toffs.

Yep, it's not racist. That's too strong a word and somewhat unfair. Some of its material can be objectionable at times but its merely pandering to an audience that already exists. The same can be said of The Sun. You might not like the business model but you can't argue that it works, given that these are the two biggest-selling newspapers in the UK.
