Unfortunately, and I'm sorry to say this, the only way I can see Katsidis winning is if Marquez has declined too much since beating Juan Diaz. Putting on weight to face Floyd, taking so many shots, and then taking the weight off could be a recipe for disaster. For me there were clear levels shown between Katsidis and Marquez when they each faced Diaz (Katsidis vs Diaz, Marquez vs Diaz).
But Katsidis damn-near beat Casamayor, and since then he's improved A LOT... meanwhile Marquez can't have gotten any better, even if he did beat Casamayor. It could be that JMM still has too much, but this is no formality.
I agree it's not a formality. As I said above, I also think the timing is good.

marquez is not finished he was simply to small for flyod in his last 3 fight hes stopped diaz and casamayor, katsidis will be counter punched all night with jmm either forcing the early stoppage or wide on points, think this fight will take place sometime this year

Fight News reporting today that JMM still hasn't signed so Katsidis is chasing a Diaz rematch instead.

Katsidis is the interim WBO champion. Marquez is supposed to defend the full WBO title against him. In theory, if Marquez does not defend against Katsidis he is stripped of the title.

Correct. But I wouldn't be surprised if the WBO doesn't force the issue. After all, two champs = two sets of sanctioning fees.
