Green V Siaca
Re: GREEN V SIACA
Crap fight, but Siaca was five times SMW champion Mundine ever was. He fronted up to a guy named Kessler. Mundine ran faster than Usain Bolt to get away from him. Still don't know what happened there. Does anyone know the real story???????
Re: GREEN V SIACA
It's good to have an early nite here & there. I'll make April 14 one of them
Re: GREEN V SIACA
Story is Mundine is weak as piss and moved down a weight division to avoid rematching Kessler in a real title fight.Grant wrote:Crap fight, but Siaca was five times SMW champion Mundine ever was. Re: GREEN V SIACA
i have lost a lot of respect for Green to be completely honest, Mundine will never in his life fight him, Mundine has beaten him once and he wants to keep that over him. Mundine never fights anyone that has chance of beating him we saw this when he didnt accept the rematch with Geale.
Danny needs to accept these facts and make his money because he is 36 fighting Siaca isnt going to help his retirement

Re: GREEN V SIACA
I agree, but Danny beating Siacca adds to the stock and gives Green another ace up his sleeve.
1, Beats a legend Roy Jones Jnr, Mundines hero and a better version of Mundine.
2, Beats a man that Mundine lost to.
All of a sudden momentum begins again with the" Danny was weight drained and had family problems ".
Regardless of the fight happening with Mundine, people will start to believe Danny is our premier fighter and would beat Mundine.
It's very intelligent.

Re: GREEN V SIACA
& he has to fight "SOMEBODY" ,if the top boys arent available.
Re: GREEN V SIACA
exactly, and Siaca poops all over any other fighter that gets imported here by other local fighters. You can't fight living legends in every fight.caveman wrote:& he has to fight "SOMEBODY" ,if the top boys arent available.
Re: GREEN V SIACA
Mundine knows people hate him thats why he never lets pressure get to him (quiet evident since he ducks all good opponents).
We also know that the longer he fucks around with Green the older he gets and closer to the end of his career he is. Green thinks fighting Siaca will bring Mundine out for a fight, all it will honestly do is get Mundine to sign a contract after Green fights him and belt him Siaca then turn around to say i beat him too.
Lets be real Mundine will not exceed Super Middleweight, and Green can not drop below Light Heavyweight. Neither fighter will take the fight have a disadvantage so this fight that Green thinks is going to happen is not going to him until Green is at the end of his career where Mundine will belt him.
As much as i hate Mundine and love Green, i have come to the realisation that Mundine will outbox Green all day long.

Re: GREEN V SIACA
Why do you all go on about Mundine?Love him or hate him,he made Green look second rate when they fought..Mundines a smart business man who makes more in 1 fight in Aussie than most will ever make..Green fighting Siaca is a waste of time he is going backwards taking this fight, and whats he going to learn from beating Siaca...(Bragging rights because Mundine lost to Siaca) move on Green and set your heights bigger than Siaca, Mundine and local scene in OZ...
Re: GREEN V SIACA
dont agree that green looked second rate,he just looked drained. & asfor mundine bein smart business man,ur rite & its the idiots that keep gettin ppv to watch his lopsided fights that make it so!!!! green has to fight somebody to stay in shape so i dont think its a waste of time either, he could have got an easier opponent-called it some sort of title & ripped people off

That sounds vaguely familiar in aussie boxing these days.caveman wrote: he could have got an easier opponent-called it some sort of title & ripped people off
Can't think off-hand of the boxer's name who's notorious for this

I watched Mundines fight in a pub on the Goldcoast,75% wanted his blood against Green.I could of won thousands on that fight as i was 1 of a very few that backed Mundine...The guy cops alot of flack on who he fights and what he says but the public pay top dollar to watch his fights because they want to see him lose...Green had his chance of fame and so have half of the Aussies that have fought him and have lost.Drained or not Green came to fight and lost to a better guy on the night.

Re: GREEN V SIACA
Green, it appeared to me, had a game plan and stuck to it in the Mundine fight, he stuck to it with belief even though he was losing, it appeared blindly attacking the body of a former League player wasn't the winning plan. I remember both fighters being interveiwed in the race on the way back to the change rooms and Mundine wincing and grabing at his side after someone bumped him. Just how close was the fight really?
I'm no fan of Mundines but he won the fight. However some of those rounds that where scored to him he ran backwards, like a yabby then threw one or two flurrys, yet was given the round. But, Green did lose and to quote cjscott, Mundine was the better fighter on the night. I believe there was a rematch clause that was never exercised.
Any how, to suggest Manny Siaca isn't a worthy 'keep busy' opponent, at least until a bigger challange is secured, is ridiculous. The bloke has fought in five world title fights, icluding two twelve round wars with Byron Mitchell and beating, even dropping, Mundine for his.
Granted, he's not Steve Cunningham or Glen Johnson, but he's not Echols, Acosta, Falliga or Shannon Taylor either. Didn't Green take on Roy Jones Junior just two months ago?

Re: GREEN V SIACA
dberry is rite, siaco is no mug,he has been there done that. I reckon it's smart management to secure a fight with this bloke to keep danny's timing etc rite till a bigger fight can be sorted.mundine beat danny & he know's it & he has moved on to bigger & better things, wat has mundine done--TALK. "green had his chance for fame" ur kidding
Re: GREEN V SIACA
Yes he did. I will never forget that.
As I've said earlier, this will be a good fight. If Briggs is in the undercard I think I'll be there all going well.

Re: GREEN V SIACA
The undercard has to be good.
Briggs vs someone of note, Bell or anyone with a rating.
I would like to see the same calibre of even match making as his last card.
Tomlinson, Steven Wills and Luiveni to appear on the undercard.

Re: GREEN V SIACA
Any word on when the undercard will be announced or when tickets go on sale?
Re: GREEN V SIACA
There were better options at LHW and CW. Very disapointing!!
However, onwards to what will be a bit of an anti climax following the RJJ match. Danny Green to put Manny on his arse within 6 rounds.
Then I hope he does not call out Mundine until Choc fights someone remotely world class. I would like to see Green goto Europe or the US to get a big name before he thinks about the rematch, which will happen in the future.

Re: GREEN V SIACA
If you saw the fight when Mundine and Kessler did meet later in Sydney you would know the answer to that. Kessler was a much better super middle than Anthony and Anthony knew it.Grant wrote:Crap fight, but Siaca was five times SMW champion Mundine ever was. He fronted up to a guy named Kessler. Re: Green V Siaca
yes brute, & i'm not convinced he got ko"d either, reckon he run out of puff & new he was gunna get cleaned up,
Re: Green V Siaca
Disgraceful! If Mundine called out sum1 from light welterwight everyone would be blowing up!
cruiserweight vs middleweight...thats funny!

A large proportion of Siaca's fights have been at 175 or above, in fact, according to weights recorded on BoxRec Siaca has weighed in at 175 or above on 11 occasions compared to Green's 3 times.Marlin wrote:Siaca is not a middleweight. His first ever fight was at light heavy and apart from supposedly fighting at middle last time out he had never fought below super middle prior to that...
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer
And it's not like Green is fighting, or ever has fought, at 200lbs...
So put that in your pipe and smoke it.
Re: Green V Siaca
The matter of the fact is he is a middleweight now...if green knows choc isnt going to fight him why in the hell would green take this fight & danny green weight drained when he fought choc?PLEASE he fought more times at supermiddle weight & only weighed 3 pounds above the limit 5 months prior to fighting choc so give me a break.
Kablam!

Who said Mundine got KOed? Kessler outboxed him easily. 116-112, 120-108, 117-113.
