Michael Hunter a couple times at the Victoria ground, where Hartlepool play.
Danny Williams outside the York Hall 3 year ago. He said hello, he wasn't boxing, he had a box of bakewell tarts under his arm.
There were loads of boxers at the Hunter Pickering fight. Carl Johanneson, James Hare, Carl Baker, none of whom were actually fighting.
I also shared my birthday cake off my lass with Choi Tsvenpureev a few years ago. He liked it.

I once saw Henry Wharton in a nightclub in York..............he had just turned pro and I was introduced to him by a lad we both knew. Things were going greta until, because of the noise in the club, we both simultaneously bent forward to hear each others voices and I caught him flush on the forehead with my own head.............................I thought "sh1t..............this is gonna be painful", but he just laughed it off. Sound guy.

Yeah Bruno in a health spa about 3-4 years ago, just me and him in the changing room. He said alright and so did I and that was it. I figured saying 'don't you just look in great shape' in the changing room would have come across all wrong

Carlos, I'd love to know how this was random...were you cold calling about double glazing or something?
"You know, there's a boxer called Frank Grant...what? Never!"
Actually, it was when he was boxing for 'champs camp' when he was with Phil Martin in Moss Side and I wanted tickets for a show in Hulme, Manchester - this was back in 1991 or thereabouts - so I rung up one of the numbers from a payphone (this was before the mobile phone) that was advertised in boxing news and it was Frank Grant who answered 'Hello, I am Frank Grant - I'm boxing on the bill!' and he just talked my ears off for about half an hour - he asked me to come and see him on the night but I had to make an early dash from Manchester! Seemed a really nice guy on the phone and was chuffed to bits that I knew something about his career.
I was and am a huge Bomber Graham fan but was chuffed when Frank Grant took the title off him.

Not randomly as I knew where he would be, but when Tyson came to London in Jan & June 2000 I was on him like a harbour shark! I was at the Grosvenor House Hotel every day for about two weeks.
I met on both visits. When he departed the Grosvenor in June to go to Scotland, I remember running as the car left & the traffic lights went to Red so they had to stop! Mike leaned aout the window & said "You again man, you don't give up, I like to see that!"
Mind you, I will never forget when he landed at Heathrow in January 2000 & checked out at Terminal five! Fans in front, behind & to the side of him just went at him & Mike looked proper apprehensive!

The only other place to run club nights was The Art Centre back in my day.

Met Micky Ward in a 7-11 a few years ago (he lives the next town over from me). Nice guy, friendly. Peter McNeely came into my old office to use the phone about 10 years ago. He was not looking good but was a pleasant enough fellow.
