i remember quite a few of his fights in america.

cos he got shown on friday night fights a lot.

which was on ch5 back then.

surprised your so convinced he did well over there.

just admit he didn't cut the mustard.

he ended up having a better career than i ever thought he would.

so he proved me wrong anyway.

dunne never fought at a level close to hatton. hatton beat top level fighters. dunne didn't beat any really. but bernard was not a bad fighter who deserved his world title victory.

never said he did I was just making a point. it seems the usual crew turn up to knock Irish fighters on every thread whilst at the same time dissapearing up the holes of some hyped British fighters. He made a good life out of Boxing, got a lot of the rub of the green and made some great money out of lucrative sponsorship deals here that made him a household name - which will make him a few quid also in the future.

Having read-through this off-on-a-tangent-topic, I think this is the fairest reply on the actual subject.

My only gripe is calling Dunne a world champion - although I admit my anger is at the WBA for their absurdness, and not at Dunne who just won what was offered to him. I think Caballero would have squashed him faster than his Thai nemesis.

Fair play to him though, hope he's happy.

Dunne was part of an Irish boxing revival and will be a big gap to fill.

I wish him all the best for the future and I believe he's made a few quid from the sport anyway.

good point - he was blown away twice! but never went dont and stayed down.

Against Kiko he got up three times before being stopped. Against Cordoba he was put down twice and got up. Against Poonsawat he was stopped on the 3KD rule!
