Shocking matchmaking, dangerously mis-matched, and a weak main event.

Sorry, but not a good advert for boxing.

No disrespect to Lawton, but poor guy- he was out of his depth. And looking at his record, we KNEW that.
Lots didn't read the thread discussing this fight (when it was made). Many gave Lawton a chance.
Possibly under-estimating the Armenian?

Sad for Scott nice lad Hope he stays in boxing as a trainer or promoter He should never have been in there to be fair
Everyone in the game knew his level after Murray and Khan

Fair point- but as I say, underestimating the Armenian.

Surely a knockout? Or at least, a TKO?
That is the official phrase they use, a KO where the ref doesn't count to 10.
He was stopped on his fight there wasnt even a count how could it be a ko??
Who cares he got beat and badly.

Fair point- but as I say, underestimating the Armenian.
He mudered Carl Johansson twice Carl gave Mitchell a very hard fight. What made people think Lawton would win?

Looking at the Armenians record, his last 5 fights were against very limited opposition. Also, add that the fight was made at all - careful match makers usually know when a "high profile" opponent is "beatable" or "on the slide" - both suggested that he might not be nearly as good as he once was. (Plus his age, for the weight.)

However, he clearly was still at the level that made him a European champion.

Edwards fight is dead good- but it's a "labour of love" watching full fights that have already happened (lacks the excitiment of a live bout.)

It's an excellent quality support bout- shame it wasn't live, as a warm up it would have been ace.

This is a good fight, I would fancy Sexton to beat Edwards at this stage of his career - Edwards getting hit a little too cleanly, and I suspect Sexton punches harder than the Nanimbian.

Whicker - sorry for all my posts about the predictions of the Lawton fight..... Had internet problems and I didn't think the first two had sent, didn't mean to repeat myself.

thats cool- i only saw one- and I do think you made a good point. It IS tempting to be "wise after the event" (by me, I mean.)

Shindjuu could have been given that- close fight. The rounds he DID win, he won more clearly than the rounds Edwards won (if that makes sense?)

IE- looks like Edwards won several close rounds, where Shindjuu dominated the ones he won.

Hope to see Shindjuu here again.

hope to see them show some respect to the title by including non-British referees (yeah, I know the ££££ is an issue.)

And I taught there was seeding's for prizefighter. I guess not because Sinclair and Pryce would have been kept apart if there were seedings.
