Maybe the shoe will be on the other foot in the not so distant future...

Froch badgered Calzaghe endlessly in the hope to get a worthwhile pay day ... maybe Calzaghe has one eye on doing so himself now?

I think if Calzaghe said he would fight Froch, he would drop out of the Super Six as quick as anything

I just cannot imagine a peak Calzaghe having any trouble with someone with as crude a technique as Froch. Really.

I love Carl, I really do. Why? Because he has balls like titanium coconuts: bags of confidence without, to me, anyway, coming across as arrogant, fights the best he possibly can, and always, always delivers entertainment.

Honestly, I love the guy.

But that cannot blind us to the fact his technique, on offence and defence, is seriously deficient. I can just imagine Joe dancing around him, and perhaps, if he was fighting before the hand problems took hold and before Calzaghe got older and started relying on his awesome fitness, getting dropped, too.

And after Froch gets beaten by Kessler and Abraham, you'll all agree with me.

If Calzaghe wants to come back it might make sense (from the Calzaghe point of view, not mine) to wait until Froch takes a couple of beatings in the Super 6. Especially since Froch mainly uses his nose for defense these days.

calzaghe was roughed up quite badly by bika who is hardly the slickest boxer around.

and given that joe has never had a great defence i think froch would cause him problems.

but he'll never take the risk, so we'll never know for sure.

Around the time of the Lacy fight,Froch was defending his titles at the York hall.Having just cracked America,do you think Joe should have boxed Froch?Carl was even less well known then than he is now(although he was on Sky then).

He got Hopkins next at light-heavyweight. I don't see where the "bottling" comes into it. Froch did win the belt he vacated - that's a fact.

froch didn't want a big payday! he wanted to prove he is the best in britain and the world!! froch doesn't fight for money,just for legacy mate, have you not realised that yet? calzaghe would have probly beat him but still..even tho froch hasn't looked great defending his title twice,he is a true champion who will fight anybody, calzaghe would have kakd himself at the thought of fighting in the super 6.

And with regards your comment about Magee? Froch won a thriller against Pascal live on ITV to a viewing figure of millions only 3 weeks after Calzaghe vs Bones, which was also regarded as fight of the year in Boxing News.

So you can try to portray him and some unknown figure lurking about - but his fight made all the national papers wheras Calzaghe's swansong bombed at the box office and was poorly attended.

Calzaghe took lesser pay days against total unknowns when he could have made a huge with Froch in this country. He has no credible excuse and his supporters like you scurry to his defence when he hasn't actually got one.

Well, you're out on the weights and he didn't eat for 3 days before the Bika or Kessler fights. When you're his age, you need motivation. Froch was motivated to fight Calzaghe but not vice versa.

What's more, Froch v Pascal had a crowd of about 5,000 - 6,000 - Calzaghe v Kessler had a crowd of 51,000

But your running the risk of seriously devaluing your opinion on here with comments like this ..

Froch, like every other proffesional boxer is in the game to make money .. as much money as they can actually. If they were not - then they would just stay in the vest.

Steve Collins did to Calzaghe what Calzaghe did to Froch ... If a young inexperienced Calzaghe was eager to get in the ring with a formidable Steve Collins .. you have to be joking to think an experienced Calzaghe would be the slightest bit scared of facing a crude bruiser like Froch

fighters aren't just allowed to pull out, or take fights in the interim (while waiting for their next super 6 bout). showtime invested big time in super 6 and they are going to be well covered by any manager or boxer who wants to fvck it up - because there lways is somebody who will try to. like gary shaw trying to get a froch-dirrell rematch and abraham trying to fight IBF champ bute. those talks went quiet extremely quickly.

i don't think froch would try to do anything like that. he'll believe he can win the series and he'll know what a positive boost on his career winning the series will have.

Bika was more dangerous with his head than his fists in that fight, and still took a wide points loss.

A bit of a daft comparison to make when staking a claim for Frochs chances, although I agree that Froch has the dirty attributes of a Bika.
