Drogba as mentioned by someone would be like audley .
Peter Crouch , would have plenty of reach but he really doesnt look much of a fighter .
Cristiano Ronanldo - Would be quick on his feet but go down like a ponce anytime a hand went near him.
Tony Adams - His nose would have been like a flashing target.
Yossi Benayoun - Mix most of the comments for Adams , Ronaldo and Crouch and i think that would about sum him up.

Gattuso was a right cocky little c*nt as well. A very good "on top" player, as I remember when they dumped an abysmal United out (by AC Milan) in Milan a couple of years ago. He got stuck in but he cheated and whined like a bitch all day I felt like clipping him myself.

I completely forgot about Lee Sharpe - he appeared on a Celebrity boxing tounament over here in Ireland for charity. He was useless but he gave it a go. I can't find any footage of the programme as RTE have taken it down from their website. Found some footage of Lee Murtagh training him.

When Billy was playing for my beloved Oxford United he was rumoured to be fighting Gypsies in bare-knuckle matches for money. I also remember a story of him grabbing Mark Lawrenson (the manager at the time) by the throat and holding him up against the wall after a bust up.

Yeah, Billy Whitehurst was a right hard case. Well known in the game in the 1970s and 80s. Apparently, the Birmingham City squad of the early-80s was full of hard men though - Tony Coton, Noel Blake and, especially, Mick Harford were well known as very handy lads. Also Mark Dennis and Robert Hopkins had hard-man reputations. Not sure how good they would be in the ring though.

Noel Blake! I remember him from my football 88 sticker collection and remember how much he resembled Tyson.

Never thought Tony Cotton would be handy.

I think "fash the bash" as he was known would combine athleticism with size nicely.

This thread has brought back memories of the old charity football matches that used to be shown as a precursor to the FA Cup final. Always used to be Tommy Cannon and Jimmy Tarbuck as captains...... Lloyd Honeyghun was useless - I remember him being hyped as the dangerman, but they had moved him to goalie at half time cause he was simply rubbish. Nigel Benn wasn't much better the year after.

Daley Thompson actually got a trial with Wimbledon after one of those performances.

Alan Wright would have had some success, especially domestically because he would have had very 'little' competition!

Ferguson, Keane and Jones would have all got laid out cold I reckon(I don't believe for a second that Roy Keane, Rooney, Owen etc were potential world champions because they had two or three skills bouts as 9yrd olds against lads from the other club down the road!)
Big Dunc was a monster on the footie field but he never come close to matching up with anyone his size.
