A bit off topic but when I seen this thread, I immediately thought of the masses of people who give up their spare time to train young kids how to box. They often work long days in their normal job and go straight to the gym to open the doors in the evenings. They give equal amounts of time to every boxer regardless of ability. I'm sure we have all come across a person like this before whether it was in your youth or if you were dropping your kid off to the gym. Unsung heroes the lot of them.

I miss Lee Gostello a great deal.
Aside from boxing he was a friend.
We still raise money in his honour each year.
RIP mate sadly missed.

The woman who works the ticket phone line at Matchroom is an absolute dear - rembers my name when I call up for tickets and couldn't have been more helpful when the whole postal strike farce was going on in the run up to Prizefighter Heavies III.

And to think this is from a promoter who doesn't charge any booking fees!!!

For thise in the know that title most definately goes to FREDDIE KING, teold Matchroom trainer who is universally recognised as, in the words of Bricktop, 'one orrible pudendum!'
When you get to know Dean Powell he is a top man - he has helped many a promoter even when he has worked for Frank W arren !!!!

Have to say though - if you dont know how to take Dean then sometimes he comes across as a bit shall we say "quiet" or "dont want to speak to you" type of chap!!!

Done an immense amount for British Boxing in this country - took his chance when it came to him - good luck to him!!!

Moving back onto the topic here... :DDD

The ernies are and were top top guys who are loved and were loved throughout the game, Lee, didnt know him personally but from what I hear he also has done so much for this game.

Dean is a lovely guy who gets too few nice words said about him..

John Wich is my vote though, that guy is seriously top of the pops in this house !

That said the previous post about coaches and people turning up after work etc etc...They never get their dues and bloody well should do, its a crying shame that these men and women put so much in and get so little back for their dedication.
