Look at the size of Mickey Walker's fists. As big as Norkus', and Norkus was a big heavyweight.

I'm working on a list of fights he refereed (main and co-features) and get that off to you.

Granberry- my fathers fist size was average I say. They were definetly full though(meaty)- He had a very strong grip. Many of the heavies I met had huge hands that would encompass your entire hand(e.g. Chuck Wepner, Norton..) but then again these were big men. Here's one of Norton and me.

A very proud day for the Norkus family. My father's induction into the New Jersey Boxing Hall of Fame. NJ Boxing HOF Pres.Henry Hascup hands me his plaque and Chuck Wepner introduced me to the crowd and spoke about my fathers career.Charley and Chuck-both boxed out of New Jersey were close friends.
Note:Tony Perez seated on left also inducted. Nov. 1996

Nassau Coliseum June 1976 Ref Charley Norkus counts out Gerald Odum, victory by KO for Paddy Dolan Round 3

George Foreman and Charley, at the weigh-in for his fight with Joe Frazier in the Nassau Coliseum. The Nassau Coliseum is about 10 mins. drive from the Norkus home on Long Island,New York.

I am sorry for the clarity for some of the pictures. The originals are clear(some overexposed). Somewhere between the downloading and the publishing to the site-they lose a little or a lot. Some look good though.
