I would be stunned if Joe came back, his last couple of years of fighting he just seemed to want to hurry up and make his money and get out, he just seemed like he wasn't interested towards the end.

I can't see Calzaghe fighting in Canada, and we all know that Bute is never going to fight outside of Canada in a billion years unless it's against some knock over job. Bute is happy fighting is mandatories and Joppy, Zuniga standard voluntaries. He might call Calzaghe out but when it comes to the fight announcement it will go like 'We can announce Bute will be fighting at the Bell center against Karo Murat/Jesse Brinkley/Karoly Balszay or someone like that.'
bute's in a decent position. he can fight someone of that calibre (provided they are known in america) on HBO. HBO clearly want their own big super middle, with rivals showtime doing their super 6 thing.

i think bute will wait for kelly pavlik to outgrow middleweight.

i agree though, no chance of calzaghe-bute. calzaghe won't be able to make super middleweight or probably even light heavyweight. the RJJ fight had some finality to it. joe won it by a mile, but he looked glad when it was over, running the last minute or two away.
Yeah sure he is making a hell of a lot of money, but he won't be gaining the respect of the non-armchair fans by doing this. I think we are going to be waiting a long old time before we see Bute against a genuine challenger. Unfortunately for him he was frozen out of the Super six and that leaves him with nothing at Super-middleweight. He can fight Stieglitz to become Unified champ but who would you back Stieglitz against in the Super 6. Bute vs Pascal at Light heavy and Bute vs Pavlik are the options that spring immediately to mind as fights I, as a fan of proper contests, would like to see him involved in.

Unfortunately as Iv said earlier I think Bute and his handlers are happy staying at the Bell center defending against their mandatories and voluntaries who have usually lost their last meaningful fight.
