However I don't see what the fuss is about Haroon Khan boxing for Pakistan (if the rumours are true).
He's probably not good enough to box for GB/England so it's no great loss.
Secondly plenty of English born Irish have represented Ireland in football.
Matthew Macklin always states that he regards himself as Irish despite being born in Birmingham (and yes I know that he represented England as an amateur).
Sinan Samil Sam represented Turkey as an amateur despite being born and raised in Germany.
Less than half of the last Welsh football squad announced last month were born in Wales.
Of the 21 man squad, 10 were born in England, and one in Zambia.
Boaz Myhill was born in America, to an American father and Welsh mother, and raised in England. So he qualifies to play for Wales via his mother. Which is fair enough.
Jack Collison qualified to play for Wales via a Welsh grandfather. Which is a tad tenuous.
And let's not forget that several South African born Englishman have represented England in all forms of cricket recently.
Kevin Pietersen qualified via his English mother. Which is fair enough.
Michael Lumb qualifies via his English father (who also played for Yorkshire). Which again is fair enough.
Jonathan Trott qualified via his English father. I'll reserve judgement regarding his motivation at this moment in time.
However Amjad Khan, Ed Joyce, Eoin Morgan & Craig Kieswetter have all represented England despite having no ancestral ties, and having been born and raised elsewhere.
Furthermore didn't Tyson Fury represent Ireland after he found out he had no chance of dislodging David Price from the GB squad?
Good post mate.

With regards Irish/welsh/Scottish/English it's a bit more accepted to merge between them all than to head outside of Europe and box for Pakistan. It's not like he's lived there.

Furthermore the country has some massive safety issues. They found a nail bomb under the ring in Karachi during their last boxing show. With Harroon being English, he may be a target whatever he thinks to the contrary.

Depends how they are scoring......

If it's on clickers or paper scoring with 3 or 5 judges, then it's either unanimous, or majority decision.

If its on computer, then it's points. If it's even after the final bell, it goes to countback, where the computer disregards the highest and lowest scoring judges and gives the average hits scored of the rest. If that is still even, it goes to double countback, where the judges are instructed to press either red or blue, that will produce either a unanimous, or majority decision.

Confused? So am I

How many times does a bad decision happen in the am's? He just needs to take it on the chin and it should give him extra motivation.

Almost every show I have been to has thrown up a questionable decision.

Hometown decisions are the norm.

instead of bitching and moving to LA why doesnt he bugger off to pakistan and live there.good riddance
its a shame that the khan family seem to want to flee the country that gave them the opportunity to be where they are everytime something negative happens to them. Amir is such a talent but i can see why some people havent warmed to him

the u.k is not a warzone either so why do the khans threten to leave or have a go at the british people.its not a racist comment but why have a dig which amir and his family have done on more than one occasion when things dont go their own way. If you wanna go,just go dont expect people to care.
amir is a fantastic performer why dont just take it on the chin

Why is it more accepted with Irish?

It seems to me it is only different because it is Pakistan and he is Amir Khan's brother.
Why don't people who have a go at Haroon Khan, have a go at Tony Cesay for boxing for Sierre Leone?

who is haroon khan besides being amir's brother? has he done anything to otherwise take note of him? is he good, bad, average? a world class amateur?

weird that he's "threatening" never to fight in the UK again, when even most boxing fans may not even know what he looks or fights like.

Where did the Khans say racist?

Surely he is just complaining about treatment from the ABA. He feels he is not getting a fair shake and can get a trip to the Olympics with Pakistan.

If you are saying racist, that is just your warped take on things.

He said he knew for a fact he would be a bigger superstar if white. As if he hasnt done well enough...Ask Robin Reid if he would swap his bank balance for Khans and he had a similar start and arguably better career(up to now),slightly mixed race though.Or if Jefferies or Price(bronze) or even Degale got even half the attention Amir did.He has had the nation behind him, just somehow managed to piss half of them off now.I once met some lads from Bolton on holiday and was shocked at their attitude to Khan

He didn't say that, you are taking him out of context. He essentially said he didn't think he would get so much stick if he was white. And also his father went on radio to say Amir was wrong. And this is also about Haroon Khan. Amir is also proudly British and has always said so. Why do you have the cheek to say that people who boo him are representative of the British people. They are not.

Why compare Khan with Robin Reid? Khan was a one-man British boxing team who got so much attention because he did it all when he was 17. That was an incredible achievement when nobody else even qualified.
I don't think half the nation is pissed off at Khan. He's still very popular, particularly outside the boxrec bubble. The jealousy towards him on here is unbelievable. I've met him loads of times and he's a lovely guy.

I've met him too and he was very cordial.

But it's the package people dislike, along with the press statements and flashy attitude when he has taken no risks in the ring. His asshole handlers who take offence to the M word being mentioned in interviews (Maidana).

If your gonna swan round in your blinged up 100k car, brag about your LA pad with P Diddly and take the piss out of opponents because they 'dont get paid loads' to wear sponsored gear -then duck / pay off any dangerous challenger to his title...

...well he can STFU.
