The smart move would be for Haye to have another 2 defences and earn a few million and look good whilst doing so, then he would have a stronger barganing power at the table.
Klitchko didnt pull 50.000 untill he was fighting Haye, in essence it was Haye who made the event sexy AND Haye has the Xfactor and that sells fights like no other potential opponent.
50/50 in my book.

x2 but haye can bang watched him spar last year he was putting his sparring partners away

I heard in the training camp for the Maccarenelli fight he was offering heavyweight sparring partners $1000 to any sparring partner who could floor him.
Basically a invitation and motivation for his sparring partners to go hard on him - but he was supposed to be beating them up.
He also got invited along to a training session with Audley Harrison in Miami and Lennox Lewis was there and he showed off in front of Lennox by busting up Audely on purpose when it was only supposed to be a light spar. Haye sounds like a right liberty taker.
Where did you see him train ?

taking on valuev was a big enough risk considering size difference, location, and all of haye's inactivity. it worked out well for haye and now he'll use this to get the mega-fight.
but this will be a hard fight to negotiate, for both sides. if wlad allows the fight to be in the UK, then you can bet there will be rematch clauses (which prevented haye-macca in the year before haye won the WBA/WBC titles) and will wlad want a piece of the UK PPV money? i hope haye doesn't get blamed for what happened last year, if, for instance, wlad's terms are unreasonable...
Lets hope there is no rematch with Valuev - that is a bad idea - and I cant even believe its being mentioned.
Some things are just best not repeated.
Yes - I think he does eventually want to cash in his chips against the Klitschkos - whatever happens.
But I still think he might want a few more defences against guys he is expected to beat - cos the money is good.
i believe sauelrand have an option on haye, as well as being the top WBA contender. however, there may be good news. i was reading about valuev v solis for the WBC elim, so perhaps valuev - who personally prefers not to fight haye again, but whose promoter was talking it up - won't be getting in the way.
wlad's mando povetkin is hesistating and hesitating. top rank are trying to push for sam peter to get the shot. i hope the IBF don't go along with it. it would be typical of the IBF to insist on some meaningless top contender who gets in the way of the real fight.
if it comes to the worst, i hope haye and wlad will dump the belts that could stop the mega fight happening. somehow, i reckon wlad would use haye not holding the WBA title against haye in negotiations. euros are obsessed with those plastic belts and valuev them higher than the big fights.

Funny that. Haye travels to France, and takes out Mormeck, then travels to Germany and beats Valuev - having wobbled him big, but he's scared to take on Wlad? You talk nonsense. Haye's career has been littered with risks. He thrives on them, and more important he knows he needs Wlad or Vitali to enhance his legacy.
But well done, Flint. You perhaps single-handidly stopped me from posting here.

I'm not saying he is scared to fight Wlad.
"Scared" is not a word I have used in this circumstance.
In fact I am quite certain he wants to fight Wlad at one point and take his chance to fight for the titles and the NO 1 spot and of course the big money that comes with such a super fight.
This thread is more suggesting - I'm not so sure Haye wants this right now - up next.
I am questioning his confidence of winning - not if the fight will happen or not.
Eventually it will happen I'm sure - but I think Haye might want to delay it and make a couple more defences.
And Haye beat Mormeck in France and Valeuv in Germany - but I would hardly call them "risks"
He was the Challenger going to the Champs back yard to try to win the title - thats not a "risk" - thats the way the sport works.
Whats so risky about that

He was trying to gain something - he went out and got it well done - but its nothing a load of other fighters throughout history havent done.
And Mormeck and Valuev were tough challenges - but Wlad is on another level - even you who has decided to be totally biased against my posts must realise what I say is true.
And for that last comment - stop being such a drama queen - I am not that important really - I am just another poster making his points - maybe a bit extrvagantly at times - but man up and take responsibilty for yourself boy - its up to you wether you want to post here or not - dont look to lay blame on me.

good point.
also, he was berated by macca ("i've signed for this fight ages ago!") and warren who kept saying via the media that haye was ducking macca. haye has proven he can get fights with tough to deal with ppl.
so haye definitely does take risks as you say, and he does make fights happen that could easily fall through.
wlad fight certainly offers much more gain than the macca fight.

Yeah he had his titles to lose against Maccarenelli - but he had a load to gain finicnally for that fight (biggest ever purse by some margin)
But he didnt mention that fight
He said Mormeck and Valuev - where Haye was the challenger trying to gain the title.
Its normal practice for a challenger to have to go to the champions ground - the champ has more to lose than the challneger.

Haye is a brave lad - and a quality fighter.
But every fighter is human - and even he must know deep down its a tough ask to beat Wlad.
I dont think any less of Haye if he did have doubts about going through with this fight - next.
Like Joe Calzaghe was a quality fighter - but he put off facing the likes of Roy Jones and Bernard Hopkins for years and just made a good few comfortable defences to secure himself first before risking it.
Haye fights Wlad nexts - and gets badly knocked out - his career could be in ruins - that must be a doubt I believe holding him back from facing Wlad just yet.

Wlad can pull some of the hottest women on the planet - he is a top lad.

Which actually makes Wlad the show off glamour boy/playboy seeing as David is a married father.

His careers nearly at the end so how would its be in ruins if he lost to wlad.
I like how you've switched tactics from openly slagging haye off to now trying to give him a compliment with a back handed insult.
You own poll has shown that you views are in the minority.

If you want to be pedantic, then I never said that you said that he was scared.
And everytime you post you seem to be critical of David Haye. Are you secretly Enzo Macc or something? Haye, to me anyways, is everything that is awesome with the modern day boxer. He runs his mouth, talks the talk, then walks the walk. Mormeck was a massive risk - if he lost that in the 4th of 5th then that would've been Haye probably done, and he wouldn't be where he is now. Even the Bonin fight was a risk - if doesn't look like it now because he blew him away, but Haye had the Mormeck fight signed, so if he got hurt, lost and looked horrible winning then things would be different. It's very, very easy to be wise after the event.
I think Haye wants the fight - if I had my own way he would fight Wlad, who I feel certain he would catch clean. But he seems to want Vitali - an even bigger task and risk. One that seems you don't be appreciating.

Well judging by recent rumours - this thread seems to be gaining in credit.
Haye does not want to face the Klits.
He knows what is probaly going to happen................he gets knocked out.
Haye is enjoying the status of WBA Heavyweight Champion.
If he fights the Klits - he will cash in on a big payday - but his status is gone -
I think Haye wants to delay a fight with either brother for as long as possible.
In the meantime he wants to take "winnable" fights and make good money.
Then cash in with a fight with the Klits towards the end of his career - which is only 18 - 24 months from now - if he sticks to his word.
Wlad senses Hayes hestation - and so has publicly turned the heat up on Haye.
Yes Haye wants to cash in with a mega bucks fight.................but not yet.
He is going to fight a "winnable" fight next.............maybe a ten years past his prime David Tua or something like that.

Exactly...Funnily enough I can honestly remember people saying he was scared to face Enzo
I suppose it depends how the question is phrased.
Would he fight them for nothing, or if it meant signing away too much of his career long independence (or both)?
No, he didn't do that with Enzo either (despite repeated attempts), and he hasn't become a millionaire by taking such ridiculous decisions.
Will he gladly take either of them on for the right deal? A deal that acknowledges that he has the potential to ignite interest in a fading division? A deal that consolidates his wealth as he stands a handful of fights from retirement? In short, a fair deal? Of course he would.
FLINT ISLAND wrote:Cos lets remeber - he signed to fight him................but he didnt go through with the fight.
And Wlad moved on and chose another opponent. The big chicken

Haye would rather beat up journeymen like John Ruiz.
He has never faced a live fighter like Wlad.
Valuev is garbage - only his size made that interesting.
Wlad and Vitali would knock Valuev out - or at least totally dominate him on points.

Ruiz was at least as worthy as Vitalis last three opponents, and probably his next one for that matter.

He's faced live fighters, but no one like Wlad, true. You can only face whats in front of you though, and he went to France to beat Mormeck and took on Valuev in his third heavyweight fight.
FLINT ISLAND wrote:Valuev is garbage - only his size made that interesting.
I'm not a fan either, but he posed a significant challenge which Haye overcame. And again, Valuev was better than Vitalis last three opponents (at least), and probably his next one.

I don't believe it...
If Haye didn't want to fight the Klitchskos...
Then, why would he bad-mouth them?
Why would he declare that he wants to fight them?
Why would he have moved up in weight? (especially when he had Cruiserweight wrapped around his wee finger after ebawting Maccarinelli).
Why would he do these things... And not fight them?
Because it will make him look pretty foolish if he doesn't.
And a right dick to boot.
