Spoke to Carl this morning. He was getting some training shoes out of his suitcase for a run.

Sounded really relaxed and confident.

He was more concerned that Showtime's production team all make it over, than himself. Which is a valid point actually as if they dont appear there is no show.

But i think Hershman and the promoters are pretty confident that all flights will be resumed wed or so onwards.

(fingers crossed).

Is there no show without the Americans? I would assume they would just use a European TV crew.

The BBC has this;

'Carl Froch is still "100% certain" that his defence of his WBC super-middleweight title against Denmark's Mikel Kessler in Herning will be unaffected by the travel disruption. The Nottingham fighter is looking into the possibility of taking a helicopter to Germany to ensure the fight takes place.'

Sounds like it will go ahead. Given that this all started 9 days before fight night I think they should be able to sort it out.

Visual flight rule mate.

Jets and so on need to fly higher and are ruled out because of the ash situation.

Back on in the north from 7am.

Still closed in Denmark, though.

Froch to arrive by private jet on Tuesday

LONDON (20th April) Team Sauerland is delighted to confirm that WBC Super-Middleweight Champion Carl Froch will be flown into either North Germany or Denmark with a private jet on Tuesday afternoon. The undefeated 32-year-old missed today´s public work-out in Herning after the Iceland Volcano had KOed his original travel plans. “We are delighted to have things sorted out and bring the Cobra to Herning for his Super Six showdown with Mikkel Kessler,” said Kalle Sauerland. “He will manage to defy one volcano by hiring a private jet, but he will be in trouble when another volcano – the Viking Volcano – erupts in the ring on Saturday night.”

Froch is looking forward to his second-round Super Six World Boxing Classic fight with Kessler. “I am happy that all travel arrangements are sorted,” the Cobra said. “Not that it had me worried – I knew I was going to get there somehow – but I´m glad I can now fully focus on the fight against Mikkel. It will not be a happy night for all the Danish fans in attendance, I am the best Super Middleweight in the World and I am flying in to take care of business.”

Ken Hershman, Executive Vice President and General Manager, SHOWTIME Sports®, cannot wait for the first bell either. “My hat’s off to Sauerland Event and Hennessy Sports for their efforts to keep the event on schedule,” Hershman said. “It’s on! Carl Froch will meet Mikkel Kessler in the center of the ring at the sold-out MCH Arena in Denmark this Saturday for their anticipated Group Stage 2 matchup.  We have contingency plans in place for our coverage on SHOWTIME and our viewers are in for yet another crucial and intense super middleweight bout. The question at this point is not, ‘Will the fight happen?’  But rather, ‘What will happen in the fight?’  Can Kessler get on the scoreboard and recapture the world title?  Can Froch pull ahead in points and all but secure himself a coveted semifinal berth?  Or simply, ‘Who will win this battle?’  No one knows.  We have seen so many surprising turns thus far in the Super Six World Boxing Classic and we are barely halfway through the Group Stage.  I can’t wait for the first bell.”

Meanwhile, Kessler pleased his home fans by signing autographs for more than 30 minutes following today´s crowded work-out at the Herning Shopping Centret. “I am in great shape,” the Viking Warrior said. “I am glad that Froch has finally decided to show up. Maybe he is a little scared. I don´t know and I don´t care – I will knock him out on Saturday to secure the first three points of the tournament!”

The fight will air on SHOWTIME at 9 p.m. ET/PT as a one-fight card (same-day delay). In Denmark, the fight will be distributed pay-per-view on the satellite-, cable- and IP TV-platform by the following operators: Satellite and IP-TV operator Viasat, cable TV- operators YouSee and Stofa, and IP TV operator TDC. Tickets (priced 499 DKR) can be ordered by phone (70 11 20 60). The starting time for the fight will be around 22.30 Danish time. Tickets for the show at MCH Herning can be purchased at www.BILLETnet.dk.
