Kev, Adrian Durham is an utter pr1ck, no doubt.

But, having spent most of my life in the north east, I don't know of any fans who are more deluded than Newcastle ones. Maybe Leeds ones but it's close.

I've put up with thousands and thousands of hours of unadulterated sh1te spewing forth from the mythical Toon Army. I'm sure you have plenty of even-handed, intelligent fans but I have yet to meet any.

How did NUFC reward Bobby Robson the season after he finished fourth?

Why is Freddie Shepherd still there after the Fake Sheikh did a genuine public interest story with him taking the piss not only out of you lot but out of your wives and girlfriends too?

Congratulations on going up though. The Championship is what Joseph Conrad had in mind, really.

I agree that there are thousands of tithead Newcastle fans, no more so in my experience than any other club.

People forget that for 9 of the 16 seasons while we were in the Premiership we finished in the top 6, and were in the Champions League twice and had numerous seasons in the UEFA Cup. Therefore it could be said that we had a right to expect better than what we have had in the last 4/5 years.

Bobby Robson - great, great man but should have been sacked in the close season before he actually was, what you want to see is progress and it was clear at the time that we were starting to move backwards and the time was right for an O'Neill or someone of that ilk.

Yes, hindsight is great and now that decision looks a silly one, but at the time I remember fans, pundits saying it was generally the right decision. If we had known what an arse Souness et al would make of the whole situation then of course we would all think differently.

Shepherd - my views on this or similar to my views on all Directors etc etc, generally speaking none of them five a toss about me, nor do I expect them to, nor do I really care whether they do or not.

We may at times be 'deluded' as what seems the populist term at the moment. However, what is not in dispute (yet is covered up under the banner of 'journalism') is that the likes ot TalkWank, Mick Dennis, Rob Shepherd, Louise Taylor etc etc are devastated that Newcastle have bounced back so quickly and have not 'done a Leeds'. Maybe the term deluded should be used to describe their definition as serious journalists?? I would have more respect if they simply said 'I hate Newcastle United and here's why......' rather than try and be clever with stats and words in order to cover up their hatred.

Championship - you lost me with that Joseph Conrad thingy, after all I am a thick, deluded Geordie!!!

Less people are caring due to the state of the sport.

- Too many ABC belts with ridiculously biased rankings and unhealthy rules that allow fights to proceed, provided at least one boxer makes the weight
- Mismatches and one of the few sports were the best dont face the best.
- The growing problem of PEDs
- The apparent lack of care to boxers AFTER fights - emotionally and physically. Boxers, apparently, just thrown on a 'scrap heap' after there purpose has been served.
- The dubious scoring and poor standard of refereeing that has went on too long

All of the above would be a good starting point in cleaning up boxing - maybe then, sponsors would have a second look at putting their name to a boxing show and more mainstream television would become realistic etc.

Here! Here! and along with what I said, which people have been expressing for years, but never seems to be even considered - "they" the ones at the top could change it, they could!

Manchester United have far, far more than any other club. Absolutely no question. It's just they aren't deluded because they win things. Unfortunately.

I bet genuine Man United fans fecking cringe at the sh1te they attract.

Good response mate. :TU:

i agreed with one point made on the show last night though.

ppv has really hurt the sport.

that's very true.

promoters got greedy and that is the real reason our sports profile has taken a hit.

and obviously football becoming this all consuming beast.
