I'll call it now, before this weekends game....
It's over for the Storm (hope i'm wrong to some degree). They will fold. If the sponsors go....and I reckon they will, they will be pushing insolvency in the next few weeks/months and it's illegal to trade once insolvent.
It shows sports betting is a farce as well ......but we already knew that
Houndawg had it right....conspiracy. No one likes getting smashed at their own game.

News Limited owns the Storm. It is up to them if the team survives or not.
This was tried before in Perth and Adelaide. Neither team survived. Melbourne has survived for over a decade.

The Perth and Adelaide teams were more a victim of the Super League/ARL merger than not being viable. Whether they would've survived however who's to know. I doubt the Adelaide team would've but I reckon Perth would've had a better chance of surviving. I have no real reasons for this, just a feeling. (And it would've been fantastic to have an NRL team here in Adelaide when I moved here)
Regardless of the cheating from the Storm, I don't think either the Rams or the Reds would've been as successful, either on the field or financially.

Millions of dollars equals small change to Murdoch. It is all about attracting advertising.

1 of them for benefit of Centerlink. No way can an honest Aussie survive without them in this harsh world

A lot of "Creative Accountants " have hit the dock in recent years. Centrelink and the ATO are getting smarter.

2 of the 3 major sponsors pulled out late yesterday.
In order for Melbourne to survive they need to compete in this years comp, if they can't compete no one watch's the games, all sponsors will pull out, people don't go to the game, memberships get cancelled, and Merchindise doesn't sell.
It's like paying people to do a job when your company can't make a profit, instead of Melbourne storm, lets call them the Unicef cheats :P

Cameron Smith: "Craig, How are we supposed to go out and play competitively each night knowing we won't have any points at the end of the year?"
Craig Bellamy; "Cam, Thats easy - just give Ricky Stuart at the Cronulla Sharks a call!"

Bingo. It all comes down to the TV deal. Having a team south of the boarder makes it easier to sell the "National" Rugby League.

One of my favourite parts of all this is that News ltd will end up paying a $500,000 fine to News ltd...

Storm beat NZ Warriors 40-6 last night.
Wait 'til the Warriors go in to bat!
