Bye then!!! :TU:

Jaffa, yet again you are another boxer who comes on this forum who thinks just because a fans opinion is different to yours then its a stupid thread.

Just remember its the fans who keeps the promoters in business - its the fans who switch on their TV's to watch you box.

You are clearly a talented boxer - no one goes to the Olympics and gets a bronze if they are average - the problem with you and many other boxers is that you think you can shout people down merely because they have opinions different to yours.
Post of the year! :TU:

If you really want to scream from the rooftop about a poor decision it came in the Mutley - Bogere undercard fight. Mutley was so far behind Bogere was out of sight. Majority opinion had the Swede winning seven of the eight rounds. Referee Messer scored 77-76 for Mutley :oo . Absolute disgrace. Questions really ought to be asked.

King landed some really eye catching shots, that hurt Jeffries.

But Jeffries was always going to be given the decision in Sunderland.

Felt sorry for King there, he deserved a draw there...... :shame:

And I also feel Tony Jeffries is not going to go far. I feel like he dosen't like or react well to getting hit. He has a leaky defence, not a big a puncher and not much ring generalship either.

Especailly in the Super Middleweight Division or Light Heavyweight Division. Degale, Groves, Bellew, McIntosh, and Anderson would take him apart. :OhYes:
You obviously weren't there, sayin "in Sunderland" So you watched it on sky, where they showed 4 of 6 rounds.
King is a very tough kid but no way did he win the fight, and with regards to your "reacting well to getting hit" he took a belter of a shot clean on the chin that he didn't see, his legs stayed solid and he was fine. Showed a great chin to me.

Actually he was hurt by a big shot, thus having to hold right away. Watch the fight again and you will see this. Even Smith and Watt picked up on it, by screaming Jeffries is hurt.
I have nothing again Tony, seems like a nice lad.

But that still dosen't hide the fact that, that fight should of been a draw. And one round should of been 10-8 to King aswell. Felt sorry for King afterwards, he deserved a draw. Jeffries didn't do enough to be awarded the winner.

And I feel he won't get past British level. I see no start quality in him or no X factor. And up to now I seem to be right, by last nights performance.

I feel George Groves is the best in that Division and deserves the next shot at the British Title. Shame he can't seem to get a crack at it....[/quote]

The fight was not at sunderland what were you watching :OhYes: :OhYes:

These Boxers are so touchy, when you criticise them or call one of there ''Mates''.

We as fans have a right to. We are allowed are opinion.

How can anyone say Tony Jeffries looked good last night? Come on stop living a lie. :shame:

To say John Simpson will stop Smith or that Groves would destroy Paul Smith. Is like commiting a crime on these forums. As all of them gang up and instanley start going mad at you..........

It's funny, because you are calling pro boxers and you have had 3 digs at me in your last 2 posts, yet all I did was disagree with your opinion as a boxing fan, and point out to you(which you've now edited) that the fight wasn't in Sunderland!

Bit ironic don't you think? Pot, kettle and all that? I corrected you and you went on the offensive getting personal!

Jeffries in my opinion for what it's worth to you, was not hurt at all. He took a very good shot and his legs were solid - He will take harder in sparring. Great learning fight against a tough opponent that has allegedly been robbed against Anderson and Dodson. That's my opinion, whether I box or not ANYONE is entitled to disagree or agree that's the reason this forum is here. I'm certainly not "ganging up on you going mad"

Good learning fight for Tony that was, It will stand him in good stead, styles make fights and King can be slippery and very negative when nailed hard early on, He and Anderson was a 50/50 fight at the end, Knowing Jaffa he won'tbe happy and will go back the gym asap and work on things.. It's what we do. One thing I'll say is he ain't showed what he's capable of yet!! I've shared a ring with him and he's a top kid.. he'll show that given time.. :TU:

Fair enough. Jeffries is talanted. But just because he was a world class amatuer, and can produce it in sparring, dosen't always mean he will produce it in the ring, when the camera's are on.

I just feel he hasn't adapoted well in the Pro Ranks. I feel he has no X Factor or Start Quality about him. And the chances are he may never adapot to the Pro Ranks, look at Erol Christie, Matthew Ellis etc.

BTW, Tony who is the hardest puncher puncher you have sparred since you have been Pro? :TU:

We the fans are often to quick to write a fighter off after a bad performence as at this stage it's a learning curve. Of course he is going to defend himself as we all do when someone has a pop so i dont see whats the big deal with him doing the same. Now jaffa pull your finger out get back down the gym there is work to be done :box: oh and dont forget to answer my early questions :DDD
Really? Why do. :-?

Ricky Hatton, Joe Calzaghe, Carl Froch, Lennox Lewis etc didn't have a hard fight at that stage, and didn't seem to do them any harm.

That was said because of panic of Jeffries actually getting defeated. He was in alot of danger of losing and at one time even getting dropped.....FACT

Smigga,

We have had our differences which are hopefully behind us now - but I have to disagree with your approach on this thread.

You boxers are proud people - you put your necks on the line everytime you step through them ropes and all of you including Jaffa should be rightly proud of yourselves.

I will also state I do think Jaffa's performance last night was actually quite good - it was definitely a good learning fight and despite Team Jaffa's comments to the contrary I remain convinced Jaffas future lies in the Light Heavyweight ranks - not Super Middleweight.

I mean the comments above sincerely - however I completely sick to death of people coming from within boxing ridiculing posters just because they think a particular boxers performance or standing is a lot lower than the boxer, and his fans think - its great you all come on here - but ffs how many times do you see it - the moment a fan or poster on here goes against the grain and disagrees - all hell breaks loose!!! - its a simple FACT that happens.

Boxrec is becoming more and more popular because posters believe in getting their opinions across and will not be intimidated into saying the "popular" thing - thats what forums are for!!!

Unless you boxers, promoters, managers etc etc accept that fans will have their opinions and we will stand our ground - there is no place for you on this forum - I know for a fact this forum is championed in all areas of our great sport because we can give our opinions without fear of being taken to court or ridiculed or threatened just because we dont kiss ar*e - people within the sport shouldnt think they can bully us into stating what they want to hear or see written on here - that trend from people within the sport has simply got to stop!!!

What's funny? He nearly knocked out Tony, and really wobbled him. Thus Smith and Watt screaming Jeffries is hurt.

Did you even watch the fight, or are just trying to stay in Jeffries good books, so he will carry on to talk to you?

Well said, Jeffries is more then entitled to have a go back and put his opinion across and even slag off the thread...i mean for fcuks sake it does involve him!

Deserter,

It does not surprise me one bit the way you have reacted - first of all I am a poster - this forum is about boxing, boxers etc etc and thus I come on here to give my honest opinions concerning the sport - I am sure you are aware this forum is not about who can give the funniest or on the other hand cruelest criticism of me - and thus your post is completely irrelevant - you and others often point out this is a boxing forum and not Spud's forum so please forgive my touchiness to criticism when its boxing you and others should be discussing on here.
