I know he was training Scott Frank at the time of his death- maybe 1981 ?

I think it may have been around 1986, because I heard he was in ill-health in 1985.

He died in December, 1980; I just checked.

A lot of people have forgotten that Angelo Dundee had used his mentor, Chickie Farrara,
as a co-trainer in a number of Ali's important fights.
he was the one who broke out the smelling salts under the nose
when Ali was practicaly out on his feet after the left hook by Henry Cooper ,and got back to his corner
( even tho smelling salts were barred then in 1963)
he was there with Dundee for the first Liston fight, when Ali won the HW title in February 1964.
he was also in Ali's corner for "The Fight of the Century" in 1971.

Chicke Farrara also had briefly trained Earnie Shavers in 1972,
and co-trained Duane Bobick when Bobick turned pro in 1973.
