ITV go on air the same time HBO do. They are hardly gonna chat sh1t for an hour while Ortiz and Campbell are boxing away in the background are they?

i like Khan AND I also kinda like Malignaggi. ITV have bought this as Khan's a big draw, and stylisticly it looks like it could be a good fight.
Malignaggi gets a lot of stick and called worse than he is on here a lot because of his perceived "lack of a pop", I think Malignaggi is game as a pebble, skillful, intelligent, experienced.......he will bring Khan lots and lots to think about IMO.

Chances are only the two fights televised live in the states will be filmed at all. There might be another one or two for international viewers, but most of these undercard fights on US cards are as bad as your Sauerland and Hennessy stuff.

That you say they've bought it, and I hear they've be given it.
Not hard is it ?
They never bid for it weeks ago, but you are saying they've purchased it because Khan's a draw.
What's your point ?

i follow it for the entertainment i'm not interested in what ITV pay or don't pay to screen or correcting people over it. I assumed a product like that what come at some cost.

I'm still not convinced until you post something that actually states they are showing the Ortiz Cambpell fight. I just can't see them showing that one. Maybe HBO re starting the Khan fight earlier. New York is only 5 hours behind so 3am = 10pm over there.

Why the hell would they do that?
Look, by all means wait for something concrete, but I'd imagine you won't find that out until 2.45am on the night of the fight if your that picky. HBO are showing Ortiz v Campbell first, then Khan v Paulie. So unless ITV plan to yap for an hour while that fight is on in the background they are showing both. The proof is in the times it is scheduled for.
Plus, sky don't announce they are showing the undercard fights from the US cards. It's just a given, when you see the time they are scheduled for that at least some of the undercard will be shown. Don't really see why this would be different. So like I said, by all means wait for official confirmation, but don't expect it.

Rumour doing the rounds is that SKY said unless they hit a certain sales benchmark (25,000 i heard but who knows), nothing would be paid to Team Khan as they needed to cover production costs - and that they were not confident it would do those numbers so simply gave it to ITV for buttons and a bit of exposure.
Previous PPV's were packed with Frankie, Degale, Enzo, Arthur, Clev and the rest of the stable - and always had an interesting support fight like Hall vs Small or Mitchell vs Prescott...and i dont think they did those numbers and that was at a reasonable hour of the evening.
Kind of shows us where boxing is at really with regards the TV.
Haye has broke the mould with his Valuev fight and i believe Ruiz had a few tuning in to, due to the heavy PR on Soccer AM, advertising on Sky sports news and the Sky chat shows. Haye put the hours in and reaped the benefits. Wheras Khan is stateside now (or should i say Canada) and not as accessible, unless they started flying over and filming him there, which might have been fairly interesting tv inside the wild card etc. Otherwise would have been a very difficult sell.

Good news, I'm not a big fan of Khan but think it will be a good fight and this tells me that there is life in free to air boxing, especially now tv companies are starting to receive more revenue from advertisers now the recession is over.
More people who watch this the more chance there will be of ITV continuing to support boxing.

Why the hell do you post on a site like this if a FREE televised world title fight is not something to be pleased about?! Like him or not......

That's fair enough mate, but the more people who watch the more likely ITV are to show further fights for FREE.....
.....maybe in the future someone you like would be boxing in one of these bouts?

Froch vs Abraham would be a brilliant fight to put on TV. I can't wait for it. There aren't any matadors in the fight, just two bulls.
