Would this be a testimonial to one's toughness?

As per usual your panties are instantly ruffled with any Ali discussion. Where did I say Ali wasn't tough as they come? It's a testament to how tough Larry was.
Hmmm. I merely answered your queries without any editorial comment at all. If I didn't could you please show me where?

You answered my statement with a nonrelated post and then one of your typical links that I don't click on.
I'm surprised I haven't shown you to my ignore list.

The links work fine for me. If you do put me on your "ignore list" at least I will be spared from your ad hominem attacks.
You stated that Larry Holmes was as "tough as Muhammad Ali" That is a subjective evaluation. However, I did my best to disabuse you of that notion.
It really is a shame you don't click on the links. I would think most fight fans would appreciate contemporaneous accounts of famous matches or interviews with past or current greats of the sport.
But, Hell, petty animus or grievances account for much more strife in the world than that

Of course, I assault you all the time. Poor little thing. I have Google, I come on boards to talk to other people. It would be nice if any thread could mention your beloved hero without a couple pages of your irrelevant banter.
I would be more than happy to discuss holmes & Ali. Do you have any original thoughts of your own? I have to say at least you managed a post here without a link.
Why the lust for ruining threads? You're no different than Granberry in that regard.

In your own words, what made Muhammad Ali tougher than Larry Holmes? I don't need any information on how tough Ali was, I watched it. What's the difference there? Educate me

More ad hominem attacks . However I won't take the bait. I'm above that. You made a point . I countered it. But rather than address my point you chose to make the discussion about me. I will leave it to others to address my contributions or lack of contributions to this board.
As to the links I thought it was customary to support your opinions with facts. If you don't believe that to be the case there is nothing I can do to disabuse you of that notion.

I'll let Larry Holmes answer that:
"One of the reasons why Ali is shaking like that is because of Earnie Shavers. ‘Cause Earnie Shavers hit him every round. Hurt him every round. And Earnie Shavers shouldn’t hit nobody like that. But he was—bang!—wake him up with another one. And Ali was so strong, so determined, that he would not fall down. And that’s one of the reasons why he is probably having problems"

Especially in the latter part of his career, he absorbed hellacious and sustained beatings to achieve a win- Zaire, Manila, and in MSG.

The problem is you didn't make a point, you rarely ever do. I said Holmes was as tough as ali, that is called an opinion. There are no facts involved. You didn't ask for any explanation, you just balled up your fists in your vintage childish fashion and went on a crusade to prove to me that Ali was tough.

I shared with you three quotes-from Ken Norton, Joe Frazier, and Larry Holmes, the man Ali is being compared to, that testify to his toughness.

I never saw Holmes take the sustained beatings that Ali did in Zaire, Quezon City, and Madison Square Garden and emerge with a victory. Even Holmes is implying that, in his own inimitable way.

I don't know how you can say Chuvalo had a weak chin. He took the best the heavyweight division had to offer.

"Ali had nothing on Larry when it comes to toughness. Not a thing"
-saad off the deck
You made a direct comparison and invited one. After that it was nothing but ad hominem attacks from you.
Now, you are throwing out a reference to George Chuvalo in a mistaken attempt to show the flaw in my logic. You said one gentleman was as tough as the other and I disagreed. Rather than address that point you tried to turn this thread into a discussion about my character.
As to the "troll" reference , a cursory review of the threads I started and the positive response they engeder suggest your ad hominem attack is without merit. You have developed some deep hostility toward me. It is sad and regrettable.

I see lots of boards where there is robust disagreement. If there is something I disagree with what should I do?
A review of my posts show I rarely discuss other posters. However you, disappointingly, and some others want to make it about me.
The bottom line is ,against my true nature, I responded to these attacks with restraint.
P.S. I was the author of this thread. Read it in it's entirety. There was back and forth without any or little rancor until a poster made it about me. Then he lambastes me for vigorously but civilly defendinng myself. It's like the kid who kills his parents and then asks the court for mercy because he's an orphan.
Dozens of threads on this page, some started by me, yet this thread becomes all about me.
Coincidence, I think not!
