Steady on lads this is getting a bit personal isn't it.

If you dont like the commentary turn the sound off, don't come on here making shitty comments about the man.

I would say that McKenzie's commentary used to be better a few years ago.

Maybe the drop in quality of his ouput is due to a lack of gigs.

Phenomenal-Nutrition, Duke did beat some good opposition along the way. Canizales and Benevides were good boxers. Magri was a good win too at the time.

Can't say I'm Duke biggest fan as a commentator, but i've heard worse.

He won an IBF title firstly, at flyweight, then WBO titles at bantamweight and super-bantamweight. He nearly won the WBO title at featherweight but a body shot undid him when I thought he was schooling Steve Robinson. Great fighter, great man, great commentator.

Wasn't Steve Robinson winning on points at the time of the stoppage. It wasn't vintage Robinson, but he was hardly getting schooled, I thought it was after that fight in which Steve should have moved to 9 stone 4 (IMO).

Edit - Checked on Boxrec Steve was ahead by 2, 4 and 5 rounds at the time of the stoppage. The 5 round margin is lofty.

Yes, when he beat Jesse Benavidas, Benavidas was rated no1 by all the US boxing mags such as KO, Ring. That was despite them not officially 'recognising' the WBO at the time.

I think I speak for all when I say we all like Duke, we all know he's a nice guy, we all think he was a good boxer, but as a commentator..... he is baaaad.

I like him doing the job and I think he and John Rawling make a good team.

By far the worst one ever is that Irish bloke who did the BBC stuff (don't know his name). It was like he wasn't watching the fight, he just said the same thing for every bout !

Duke Mckenzie Great man, great fighter, shit commentator.

Jim Watt Great Man??, Great fighter, Shit commentator

Ian Darke seems a nice bloke??, presume he couldn't fight his way out of a paper bag, brilliant commentator.

I like Glenn Mc and Adam Smith too but every time Jim Watt is commentating I know i'm not going to enjoy the fight as much. He was great back in the day with Reg G but I don't know how this is possible but he seems to be a shot commentator? lol

Always remember some fight where Rawling and McKenzie were commentating, Rawling falls silent to allow Duke to comment on a slow-mo of a flush power shot, Duke duly obliges by waiting until the punch is landing and simply shouts . . . "DOOOOOOSSSHHHH!!!!!!!!!" brilliant
