To me Danny as a Pro overachieved. Three times He boxed in the SE divs and lost, the clues were there. A lovely Guy maybe to nice and lacked confidence, shame.

i havent seen too much of the early Danny ..but he starting getting all wobbly against sam...then i think in his next fight Keith Long had him all wobbly with uppers...its been like that since

Danny fought Long before he fought Sam.
My brother has the Sam fight on tape so i watched it after reading this thread.
The BBC commentary seemed to think of Sam as a guy Danny would beat... untill the bell started!
I think this was the fight that proved Danny was not world class... and Euro/British standard was where he should be at.
The fact that Sam too... didnt quite have it on the world stage proves that point

Samil Sam was class that night, suprised he never went on to achieve more- fought like John Ruiz on PEDs.

I too was very suprised that little was heard of Sam after his fight with Williams......

BoxRec has Danny down to fight Alex Leapai (
http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer) at the end of this month. Looks like he won't retire after all, which is unfortunate as he is a shot fighter.
