haha least I don't go on saying I'm gonna be bigger then lennox lewis, like harrison does... I believed in haye, because of his performances.. Just seem's like he's taking the easy way out. Oh and just because you won some euro title of a faded tuff journeymen, does not give you the right to fight for a world title!!! I mean come on, we all know who is gonna win ffs.
Since we're bringing Lewis into it, is Harrison any worse than Phil Jackson?

a few months ago i'll bet haye never even saw this coming. and also, has he even accepted the fight with audley yet?
haye-audley will be a laugh if it happens. ppl should take easy. haye has made many mistakes by talking too much, but should we all have taken him so literally, given the absurd hype? he's still an exceptional fighter and is having a successful career and we shouldn't expect him to fight a klitschko on german soil right away, so matter whay hayemaker himself has said.
haye still is not the finished article, and it would be silly just to jump right in. he has a heavyweight title, a sky contract (PPV), he also promotes a fighter or two and is his own promoter to boot. what fighter with all that to lose/responsibility is going to gamble it all on one fight? let's grow up a bit eh, even if haye has done plenty or childish raving himself...
The point is, Haye has called out the Klitschkos ad nauseum. Confronting Wlad in a mall, wearing that t-shirt. Signing to fight both but pulling out. After doing all of this, how can you be surprised that people are now criticising him for ducking the Klitschkos. And yes, he is ducking. Wlad had a 50:50 offer on the table which wasn't replied to.
Before you reply, I KNOW the business aspects and I KNOW that Haye can make more money collectively elsewhere. That is not my question. Haye talked so much garbage at the Klitschkos and on the strength of THAT, he is being widely criticized for ducking them.
my view is that haye was talking complete bollocks, putting massive pressure on himself, using his mouth before engaging his brain, and desperate for a heavyweight title so he could carry on getting world level paydays and having a successful career as a fledgeling promoter. obviously he has a title so things have slowed down.
i would argue that the majority of the message board whiners - on yank forums - watch neither haye nor klitschko fights (nor are they given the opportunity to purchase these products).
i never listen to wrestling style histrionics so i'm ok with haye doing it bit by bit. i;m sure he was going to leave ismael abdoul a hollowed out carcass, but instead he boxed him and got a much needed 12 rounds under his belt despite leaving just about everyone who watched frustrated, baffled or sold short.
my only problem is that he went quiet on wlad after the sanctioning body held by wlad (IBF) approved a unification. i prefer to see it that haye doesn't want wlad, but vitali. no doubt he won't get any credit UNTIL he fights vitali, but i believe this fight will happen - eventually. if haye has a domestic blockbuster that does well, then it helps him in negotiations in all fuutre big fights, makes him a man that others will want to come to. cash in with audley, then cash out with only the biggest fight.

I don't believe this "50:50" offer any more that one of those "winner takes all" proposed bouts..

True K-G.
As I've suggested, the news of a 50-50 no options offer strongly suggested the Harrison fight is ALL but done to me.

Yes i believe the fight is a done deal too.
I really think it would be better for all concerned if the Wlad fight (It will be Wlad 1st, btw) takes place next year, after a longer build.
Let Haye knock over a few people 1st and get the general public really into him before going to Germany. Oh, and make sure Wlads fights are broadcast on SKY.
Whilst I'm spouting off, i believe Audley has a 30-35%% chance, maybe of beating Haye....

He has a chance because Haye isn't as busy as you might presume and that will suit Audley who has a good counter shot in his armoury.
I'd say 20%.

At the end of your post you talk about the business aspects of fighting Audley first and making more money. I agree that is a good business move but as fans we want to see the big fights. However, despite that, the point remains that you are excusing Haye from the theatrical calling out of the Klitschkos and putting himself in every boxing publication saying he will KO Wlad etc... only to duck Wlad when a 50:50 offer is on the table. He could also have fought Vitali, who is ready to fight him. This is why Haye is being criticised now... the shameless ducking and turning down a 50:50 offer with no options after he spend such a long time calling them both out. It's the fact that he ran his mouth so much.

yeah but 50/50 of what?
of everything, incl sky box office PPVs, for instance?
if so, wouldn't that be a point of contention...
re wlad or vitali. i think few ppl want to fight wlad in germany, where he is allowed to get away with atrocious holding and back turning antics. in america, this gets him dropped on his arse (sam peter) multiple times. in germany he's allowed to jab, grab and topple on/cripple his opponents with well placed knees...i believe haye wants vitali, for the vulerabilities vitali had shown glimpses of vs sosnowski and kevin johnson. not to mention the greater interest sky (from the lewis fight, the british angle) and HBO (who made a big thing of vitali's comeback) may have in Big Brother, meaning more money.
anyway, povetkin will beat wlad. if he fights him and forgets all this drug testing stuff.

The offer would have been a decent one for Haye, obviously I don't know the ins and outs, but if Wlad came out and said 50:50 then it would presumably be split down the middle, which is fair. Also, if Haye wanted Vitali, the fight could be made. Vitali has said he wants to fight him, as has Wlad and Haye has just kept silent. I think the Harrison fight is made and they are just waiting until the world cup finishes to announce it.
As for Povetkin beating Wlad, I think he does have a chance with his combination punching but it's going to be difficult for him, especially since Chambers beat him handily. Not the best form. I'd take Wlad to win that fight

Haye is 100pc right, of course he is. He'd be an idiot not to take this fight. He'll still fight a Klitschko down the line but he's right to do what he likes, it's a business after all.
Yes, he talked crap but he backed that up by toppling a 49-1 giant IN GERMANY.
I'm a fan of Haye's and feel he has breathed new life into that division. Cut him some slack, he deserves this pay day and admit it, you'll all watch it.
Agreed completly, now doubt he'll fight a Klit in either the next fight or the one after, it WILL happen, but you can't blame him for earning a few bob too.

Yes, and Audley is a lot bigger than Haye, so much so they were kept away from sparring with each other a few years ago.
Anyone else not really sold on Haye?
He'll never be crowned Pipe Smoker of the Year, thats for sure...

audley having the size advantage could make the hamlet of boxing (to punch or not to punch) much more willing in exchanges. with haye being a soft chinned ex cruiserweight as well - maybe he'll have some confidence - or maybe he'll go into an absolute shell, it's hard to predict.
it's the only chance he'll ever have to make good on that olympic gold medal. when you see the yanks who won an olympic medal getting chance after chance after chance (viloria, navarro, rocky juarez) and falling short so many times, i don't see the problem with audley getting just one chance. it all fell into place for him with prize fighter and then sprott replacing sosnowski (who would surely have outworked him) for the european title.

Logic says Haye will smash Audley. But stranger things have happened than an Audley knockout win. One thing is for sure this would/will be a massive fight in the U.K and will further raise Haye's profile. As long as Klitschko fight happens later this year fair play I say. A boxer's career is a short one and I will not begrudge a man who risks his health for our entertainment making as much money as he can while he still has his faculties intact. I tell you what though, it wouldn't half be funny if big Audley threw a spanner in works!

This could be the first fun heavyweight title fight since......

David Haye in Orwellian about turn
This sums it up nicely.
All this soppy crap coming out from reasonable minded posters about fair play to Haye its a dangerous sport and he has only got a limited time to make the money, etc
Not really the point is it.
Haye built his career and his fan base built on a more pure set of principals.
He would fight whoever was the biggest and most dangerous challenge - for the fans -
He would live on the edge - put it all on the line - if he loses - if he gets knocked out - thats part of what David Haye is - all or nothing
As long as he was paid decent - then put whoever the fans want in front of him
But now he is just showing he is the same as every other fighter - not a special hero that so many fans wanted to blieve in
Easy money - easy fights................boring boring boring - he should have signed with allegedly - he would get him the best deals
-Sports Network could probaly get a little thing going on pack out the o2 for David hayes next 10 fights - and aqccumalte easy money against a bu8nch of average heavies defending the WBA bauble - then at the end of his career he can fight Wlad - get knocked out anyway and then retire
boring and predictable.
