Tyson Fury is not a good boxer, and never will be! He doesn't even punch properly, I honestly can't believe how people think he's gonna be anything! Am I missing something??????

Tyson Fury was mediocre and got fortunate that McDermott gassed himself out.
Good luck to Fury but he fights nervous and has a touch of Audley Harrison about his fight demeanour

Well i thought tyson fury did well on the night he was allways going to win the fight weather it came down to stoppage or decision. i think with all the criticism he endured from the first fight he came back to johns back yard with heart and determination take it in to mind that he is still a kid at 21years of age and he developes and learns with every fight. Everyone as to start somewhere the kid can take this as a stepping stone and if he keeps focused he can achive good things. What would you have thought when david haye got stopped by thompson now he's heavyweight world champion. Now tyson has to go around many learning curves and this is just the begining of something great.

We’d all like to win the southern area title on our debut, but seriously... someone who technically takes the English Heavyweight Title after only 9 months and 8 fights is not on the path to greatness?

Amazing maybe stretching it, but I was very impressed with him again at such a young age and and so few fights, how well he coped with the pressure and expectation on him. He's a fighter through and through
Those 10 rounds he shared with McDermott is what paved the way for his second win. He gained a lot experience from them and deserves a lot of credit for going through with the rematch, on McDermott's patch, over 12 rounds this time and getting the job done with an emphatic finish. Especially from those who said Fury wouldn't even take the rematch.
Fury had to come back from a really rough patch, sucked it up and outlasted a much more seasoned British title contender. Point out all the flaws if you want, but there are just as many positives to pick up on.
He's going to be the British champion sooner or later and I suspect it's going to be an entertaining time for the fans during his reign.

About Tyson's post-fight interview - He said he was in tears because he wants it so much. If that is the case why doesn't he put in the extra effort in the gym?
I've followed his career from day 1 and really hope he succeeds. With better conditioning and good coaching I reckon he can do well, at least Euro level. I just hope he doesn't look back at the end of his career and say 'I wish I'd have put in the extra hours in the gym and laid off the Big Macs.'

This thread is scaring the sh*t out of me!!!!
What are people like you on? Fury is atrocious, fighting a pudding and looking like just slightly less of a pudding himself. He will be blasted out by anyone at a remotely decent level.
Weaknesses - Appalling conditioning. No defence at all, getting caught all night by a slow and overweight plodder with telegraphed shots. No snap or speed himself, dodgy punch technique. Poor aggression levels, goes backwards and open when under pressure a la Audley.
Strengths - he's big. Has an OK jab. Has fought a load of patsies and has a strong promotion team on the back of his height and ridiculous name. Please can someone tell me his other strengths?
As pointed out - he talks the talk about wanting it and being a world champion - but I must spend
a lot more time in the gym than him and I have a full time job and two kids!

So fickle!
Stick Fury back in with lower opposition and he'll look a lot closer to how people are expecting him to look e.g. he will deal with opposition well.
Problem is there doesn't seem to be too big a queue of his British counterparts waiting to shut him up, and now he's stuffed a British title contender who had most of the advantages over Fury, I bet the queue to take him on gets smaller.
McDermott was a big step up for a young prospect and Tyson grinded out the wins over him in long distance fights.
The only wars he sould be having is over 6 rounds, 8 at the most, but he's met the criteria Maloney wanted for his man (McDermott) and still won. Terrific win, no doubt about it.

Let's be honest here - how many fighters have began their careers soft flabby grossly overweight slobs and developed into fit trimmed down chiselled fighters?
How many can we name?
