hes fought nothing but tomato cans so far
if anything these foreign imports are the throwbacks
The "evidence" im basing it on, is that he has appeared on several young british heavyweight loaded bills on sky tv recently and amongst the other 6-7 guys he stands out for being
a) in shape and at a weight many HW's were in previous times rather than the usual 250-260 lbs of out of shape blubber.
b) he isnt running his mouth off and is quiet and willing to learn.
c) he continues to learn and improve in every fight and has a natural crispness and economy of punch and apparently natural power that most of the others dont.
I wouldnt read too much into his being "stiff and upright" . Frank Bruno and Henry Cooper were stiff and upright too, there you go another reason for him being a throwback.
Some of the guys dismissing him so early at this learning stage, just give him a chance and we will see how it pans out.

Fury pulled out of fighting Dallas twice in the ams. They never shared a ring.
Price outclassed Tom but didn't stop him in their ABA Final.

A very interesting addition to the heavyweight scene. He has definitely got lots of potential.
Some people say he has got a leaky defence but not more so than Tyson Fury who can't dodge or block a right hand to save his life. McDermott was landing them with alarming regularity. I feel Dallas would be very competitive with Fury and has every chance of knocking him out. I'm looking forward to following him.

Dallas has alot of potential to be somebody in the heavyweight division; not just in Europe

I don't mean to be disrespectful towards Tom Dallas but I think the heavyweight division would have to be very poor for him to have success at the world level. And I mean very poor compared to today's standards.

Tom Dallas definitely has some ability but is very much a work in progress. But happily he himself knows that and is looking to improve as he goes about learning his trade. He needs to become more fluid and relaxed, and he needs to really get behind a jab and make it a major weapon in his arsenal. That he's always in shape and clearly carries genuine power is obviously good to see. Work to be done, but he's a prospect with some tools to work with.
