I know boys will be boys but when you're in his position.....well, I'd be trying to win a title and stay out of trouble. Plenty of time for all that when he retires.

I should think they will if there is any sort of Community sentence. I remember last year reading in Boxing News about a fighter who has a Community order who wasn't allowed to fight until he did his hours.

Common assault is barely even a crime, he must have hardly even touched him, I doubt he will get a punishment other than paying court costs

Not when your a licensed boxer, there was a boxer a couple of years ago working the doors, in London who hit a guy, sadley the guy died and he was jailed for life for murder. I know this is very diferent but the court will be a bit harder on him becasue of his proffesion. Hope he learns form it as he's a super talented fighter.

The fact that it was dealt with in a magistrate court says it all, such a place is usually reserved for driving offences and unpaid fines

I never even read that article Ian. I only read the one on the sheffield star site. so I can claim that as my own!

Silly boy. Aside from all that is wrong with his behaviour he's going to regret this as getting a visa to fight in the states later in his career will now be tough.

He has been convicted of common assault in a magistrates court for christs sake, it's a mickey mouse offence.
I imagine the barman is after a few quid, does anyone really imagine that Brook hit him proper hard to the head and he didn't have a scratch on him
