Agreed. Looked far more impressive and against better quality fighters than Degale.

They say he is more talented than David Haye - thats what Adam Booth suggested.

Of course Degale will have to tighten his defence when he moves up and cut out the showboating, but he looks like a class act to me and very powerful.

Although Groves won well in his first pro title fight on the Mitchell-Katsidis undercard, I noticed very briefly in the earlier rounds that he didnt look too comfortable with his opponent forcing him back - the commentator even picked up on this and asked the rhetorical question if Groves has rushed with his title shot. Of course Groves ended up destroying his opponent - but it was a little sign of weakness.

We will not really know how good both Groves and Degale are until they have to prove it against real live opponents, but so far, Degale looks very exciting to me.

One thing we have seen is that Groves is open to the overhand right, and I wouldn't bet against Degale implementing that effectively.

It won't happen for ages and DeGale went with the wrong promoter if he wanted the glory fights so soon in his career. Should have gone with Hayemaker or Hennessy, but then again, his big mouth would be put to the test, so he's probably best off where his is...spouting off in his SN protected cacoon.

Because Hayemaker and Hennessy have been so good at getting the glory fights for their boxers, haven't they?

Ha ha -

The easy fights more like

Warren made Haye V Maccarenelli the huge fight it was with big money

The Klitshcko brothers fights have not been made

Instead they fough Valuev - hardly the same as fighting and beating Wlad for World Glory.

Agreed mate, and he's being brought along superbly with good tests and top sparring with Froch. It's a hard hard sport and I think the route he's taking will stand him in much better stead than being fed a diet of stiffs that would teach him little but complacency.

degale very exciting? yes quite exciting fighter but not as good as people make out IMO, that plodding forward slow punching style against horton.,70% of his punches are not thrown properly, when he switches orthadox he looks terrible, he does have power when he throws his punches correctly and the KO of horton was brutal, his floyd mayweather defence isn't going to work.

agree HOBB

gasman i have a suspicion that Degale is never going to iron all the stuff I don't like out of his game. *if* he boxes clever he can always be a nightmare patchup for just about anyone at 168lbs because of his speed and athletic talent. i have got an image of him shipping a stupid overhand shot over his ear and his legs going, though, and I can't get it out of my mind.

degale will come forwardwith his wild calzaghe like slaps, then get countered with a big right and realise he doesn't want to be there.
