IMO Kel Brook takes a very brave Michael Jennings apart. Its yet another chance for Brook to prove he has what it takes to go to the very top - I do however worry about his discipline outside of the ring - it could be his undoing for reaching the top.

I would agree with Spud on this one

Jennings went into the fight with a plan to win and tried to execute it, he didn't just throw everything at Cotto in a forelorn bid to find a lucky punch because he respected his own ability and the fight more than that.

It is your voice more than any other Spud which has pushed Brook as a superstar with one achilles heel for a long time. I don't see the greatness many others do but if he doesn't have this key ingredient, he's not destined for greatness.

And furthermore - I've been hearing Brook was the next big thing for about 5 years.....what happened, what took so long?

Jennings is his biggest test. FW may have timed it right, but I'm not so sure.

I like Michael Jennings style of boxing.He throws very correct shots, and knows his way around the ring.I remember him outboxing a resurgent Chris Saunders a few years back, and I was very impressed with the way he handled him, as chris was coming into the fight with form, and take my word on this, he could really, really punch (!)

With all this being said, I think Kell is in the ascendency and will develop into a genuine world class operator.His jab is superb, and he has a natural instinct for where he should be in the ring + he is heavy handed.On top of this, he is an accurate puncher, which makes such a difference.

re: can he punch to the body? I would say undoubtably so. I might have just been a keep fit boxer, but I am 5-6 stone heavier than Kel, and his punches to the body hurt me a lot more than some bigger fighters I sparred against.So, he definitely has this in his artilary.

I'm going for a kell stoppage around the halfway mark, although I would not be hugely suprised if he finnished it before then.

P.s aboslutely no shame in Jennings losing to Cotto who is top end of world class and has been for a long time now.

I agree with this, Jennings certainly seemed surprised at how good Cotto was, especially his judging of the distance, but in no way did he cack himself. I think he felt he was in with a good chance and put in a far, far better showing than say Gary Lockett against Pavlik.

I think its even money this one does not happen! Its been put off, put back, etc, so many times & now with Brook's assault charge, that does not help things!
