The score for the Ramirez-Caferro fight was actually 7-7 I'm told and they went to raw scores.

Yeah, that's what I meant. 7-7 tie and the pts is the raw scores.

I'm planning on doing a live blog of tonight's bout... that is if things go as planned.... we'll see. I'll post the link to the blog at http://FrontPageBoxing.com/amateurs/

I apologize for not being able to report what's been going on here as I wanted to. I appreciate any of your support. For all of your information... frontpageboxing.com hasn't been consistently updated lately during this week because I've been covering the Nationals here at Colorado Springs. I'm a one man crew and I've been overwhelmed with uploading videos onto YouTube, writing articles, upkeeping the website, and trying to give some time to my wife and son who are here with me. I appreciate the support and the encouragement I've been receiving; especially with what's been going on.

I was told to take down every National's boxing videos off of YouTube or else I'll not be welcomed to cover tonight's event. I've offered to give them all to USA Boxing for them to post it on their website and we'll see what happens. I wish someone is recording tonight's bouts because a lot of these upcoming boxers are amazing... the women boxers have really come a long way and their skills are very impressive! I just hope someone records it for history sake. What's good of all this if we can't document it for years to come??

Anyhow... Grace and peace.

While 2010 USA Championships lacked the drama that 2009 brought us, and the organization was rather weak, the boxing matches were very good and entertaining. The story lines over the next year are writing themselves!

108 - Louie Byrd shows he is going to the Olympics by defeating the people the way he did.
114 - Warren is separating himself from the others at 114 a year early.
123 - Roman Morales bouced back after a 2009 year in which he lost the Regional Golden Gloves and couldn't make it out of the first round at USA Championships.
132 - Jose Ramirez continued to run the division from the Juniors to the Seniors
165 - Jesse vs. Luis!
178 - Pretty open, Plant and Weston surprised me
201 - Geffrard is the class of the stacked 201 pound division

I don't know if I would call winning a fight on tiebreakers with last year's national champion "running the division".

I have to agree - winning on a tie breaker isnt quite "running the division".

In defense of teasy24..... I've never seen someone take Duran Caferro out of the center of the ring like Jose did. Duran is a king of the ring center and does a great job controlling a bout from there. However, Jose took over the center and had Duran fight from the outside. That was very impressive. Jose showed a lot of respect for Eric Flores in the first round and mid-2nd but did pick it up. Grant it, Eric is a very tough boxer as well.

I know Duran and his father are reworking their strategies and I look forward to a rematch between Duran and Jose. I have it on video and I'm working on getting it uploaded. I'll keep all of you posted once I do.

I'd be interested in seeing all of Junior's fights from this tournament. I'm friends with him and his dad; two good people who have both helped me out a lot. Junior has actually reffed a few of my fights. He'll be back, I still fully expect him to go to the Trials next year.
