Dioufy wrote:Pass is an MC who I like, whereas the dude, who's name escapes me, that does it for F Warren does me effing nut in. He shakes, he stutters and worst of all, when there's a close decision, he announces the winner by blue and red corner, and if we're honest, it normally takes us a few minutes to figure out who that is. It just takes that bit of anticipation and elation away trying to figure out of was in the bloody red corner.

Mark Burdis has been in films alongside Ray Winstone, in major TV series' like Grange Hill and is called a tosser!?? Where do we get these forum members from????
I "think" he took the "Sports Network" MC slot with very little if any MC experience. Doesn't have the booming voice or demeanour of some of the top MC's like Buffer/Lennon/ and dare I say Pass, but hey I doubt its as easy as it looks!!!

Logan has got a lot better since he first started. He's not bad for the small hall shows.

Goodhall was good at what he did, but I could never really warm to him. His son just doesn't/didn't have the voice for it.

You're right, tosser is very unfair, he's probably a really nice guy.

It still confuses me though, If he's an actor, which he no doubt is, why can he not act the part of a half decent MC? He gets ripped into constantly on the forums and he's not getting any better, he even looks as though he doesn't want to be there.

At least, as another poster pointed out, Gary Logan has improved to the point where he is now OK, can't see Burdis getting any better than he is now.

For real?

I have to take those.

Not for nerves, though.
I had to take them about 10 years ago for panic attacks, but one of their main uses is to stop shaking when public speaking, thats why they are banned from a lot of sports, because they give an unfair advantage.

Neeevvvvveeerrr take beta blockers for panic attacks!!! The doc shouldnt have prescribed you them as they meant for high blood pressure and panic attacks only raise ya pressure slightly when having one so just simple breathing exercises should have got ya back on track. I used to suffer with em for 2 years after my drink got spiked at a house party but am fully cured now. As for Michael Pass ive seen him shake before and heard how he loves a bit of sauce so im putting 2 and 2 together and just gonna assume he was hungover or need a swig lol. He's still my fave MC as well as Jimmy Lennon JR

Mike Goodall is a unsung hero of British boxing with the work he does behind the scenes.

Yeah, stalwart. Used to be setting up the ring early doors etc. Still see him at the shows, he was at the Dome show a few weeks back.

I assume he still hires rings out?

Whatever happened to "Mr Power" the guy who did the shorts for most of the Matchroom mob? He was a nice bloke, pretty funny and knowledgeable.

I think hes the best out there meself mate.

I think his image as solely being a boxing m.c has taken a knock though. Prizefighter seems to be his sole contribution to boxing now and everything else is the darts. I believe in all honesty people see him as more of a darts m.c now.

That's actually a pretty good point, I've seeen posts about him like "great servant, works his balls off etc." but it's his job, he owns ringcraft doesn't he? I'll bet he's worth a few quid from boxing.

The board inspectors are the real servants, they get travelling exes but they don't get paid.

I completely agree - he is one grumpy **** but I like him and what he does for boxing is immense.

Have to agree there too!!! - most I have met go out of their way to be flexible and to ensure the show goes smoothly - whenever I work on Fight Academy shows they are top notch.
