Matty got stopped that night due to inexperience. As soon as he got up he came out swinging. He should've held on, rode out the storm and then started his offensive again. I'm sure if he finds himself in similar situation in the future, he will deal with it in a far more mature manner.

Max Maxwell would have been a good choice. He deserved to beat Concepcion when they fought, and also floored and pushed Webb close over eight.

With six weeks to prepare I think Max would give him a good fight!!!

Conception is just as deserving as Hall, maybe more so. It might not be a British title fight between the best two light middles in Britain, far from it, but it will be a good fight and Conception always has a punchers chance.

I agree, Max Maxwell has had a few close calls go against him because promotors were putting the journey man tag on him too early but now he should of proved that he is good enough to go for title's, especially with Richie Woodhall as his trainer.

The light middleweight division in this country is a bit weak at the moment so there isn't too many options to choose from and Martin Conception with his patchy record isn't a bad contender. Hall is another fighter who seems to fall at the final hurdle but maybe he should be given a second chance after the Conception bout.

Normally non mandatory defences are to lesser fighters anyway so don't think it's a big disgrace.

the last statement is very disrespectfull. the lads got a great record & is very capable.

Hall is a very strong fighter and a scary, restless sort of man. However, the sportsmanship he showed after Concepcion jumped on him and caught him cold was exceptional, although it is very hard to dislike Martin.

He's a good puncher, which will always add appeal, and he had a great win over Pryce. However , having only beaten a journeyman sinse losing a fight for the title by stoppage , I think the "jury is still out" with reagrds to his ability.

Good luck to him in is EU title bout.

We should bring back the weight to midday of the boxing tournament.

heh, thanks for that, I'd never seen it. Hall hurt literally every time martin landed. couple of nice compact left hooks in there.

Why is it a joke? Concepcion has won his last 4 proper fights, 3 of which have been area title fights. He's also beaten 2 of the people (Hall & Maxwell) who people are suggesting are more deserving of a title shot.

Don't think anyone would claim concepcion deserves to be the mandatory challenger, but considering its a voluntary defence I think its a very credible opponent for Webb- especially as, in my opinion, its a 50-50 fight.

Thats curious- if a fighter takes a title as mandatory challenger, he is allowed a voluntary as his first defense.

If the voluntary challenger happened to win, would he then have to face the mandatory etc?
