cheers colin, i agree theres a lot of talent in Scotland and it would help if if they won a few more title to get more tv shows up here because we have some very passionate fans and it would help encourage youngsters into the sport.send my regards to the lads in the gym.

Spoke to paul on Thursday and he is raring to go. He just took some time out to have a rest as Tommy had pushed him quite hard for a lad so young. Paul didnt even get 25% of 100k btw lol

Hopefully Paul can come thru the fight on Sat with no injuries etc so he can push on from there. Maybe a brit eliminator after that then sykes for the british if all this go to plan, i think paul has a big future in the game and this last couple of years was just a small set back.

Defo think appleby has a shed load more potential than burns.Ok ,would be to soon at the moment ,but look what he achieved so young.a fight at the moment would prob be similar to when burns fought arthur,with arthur too mature at that time.looking at applebys frame i think
he will be even better now he has moved up. so bring on appleby v burns a great fight for scottish fans! what ye think ft?

Mate Ricky Burns would stop or outclass Paul Appleby if they were to meet and you know what Paul knows it!

Well after burns loses on saturday(which i hope he doesn't coz ill be there cheerin all the scots boys on)it could be that they could meet at domestic level in the next 12 months or so
as a fight fan it would be a fight i would pay to see!

I have always rated Appleby, but was probably moved into the British title scene a little bit too quickly.

Mr Warren will look after him, and he should flourish under him.

I agree it was a bit too much too quick. He was the youngest brit to win the lonsdale featherweight title in history if memory serves but the pace of his rise could certainly have been more controlled. The Lindsay fight was a big night in his career and gilmour had him in the ring fighting about 5 weeks before it not to mention giving away home advantage to the challenger (maybe how the 100k rumour started)

Bags of potential though and only 23 and under Warren he will have the time to develop properly. He is looking very comfortable at the new weight too.
