Thats because every fighter believes he has a shot. No matter how great the odds
they think that they can give it a shot and chase down that glory.

I would have a crack at such a fight. Heck most club fighters would willingly step
into the ring against any ATG in history, no matter how over matched that they
are. Because they will train hard, do their best and while their is a chance, however
slim their in that fight.

Thats what makes the greats, great because they are able to stave off such challengers
with consistency... and thats what separates a fighter from an average guy that
'knows better'.

Sure he would, Barkley is broke and, like many other ex. fighters, does not know how to hold down a regular job. He pissed away all his ring earnings and now it's too late. Funny how Iran does not want to be a trainer because his pride will not allow him to play the supporting role to a fighter. This from a guy who tried to auction off dinner dates with himself a few years back.

I do get the impression reading between the lines that Iran went crazy the moment he had some money blowing it on casinos, whores, and jewellery and cars. He acts like the fact Arum treated him like a commodity makes him a special case. It doesnt thats who boxing has always worked. I do feel Iran is probably one of those guys who cant hold down a regular 9 to 5 job like the rest of us as he will end up losing his temper and hitting someone or his ego wont let him. Likewise he doesnt have the patience for training someone. But that said no doubt he should have been paid much more for the fights he did have, he never seemed to get an easy ride at world level except for the van horn opportunity. Taking the Benn fight when he did coming off eye surgery was a case in point.

Barry dont go to the casinos when you start making some serious money.

You can go to your first am. fight thinking you are gonna fight fighter x who has no experience and all of a sudden,the plans change and you are fighting fighter y who was a golden glove champ.

I thought about that right after I posted here. He is seriously going to f`n kill somebody. Everybody calls him a "White Thomas Hearns" and I am not sure he has that kind of power,yet,but he can crack. Glad to meet someone who was a string-bean like us

umm, as for my career or better apt career choice, ive put it on hold for the moment for a doctor has detected a heart murmur so, ive got to recheck it and see whether or not its wise for me to continue boxing or not; however, either way the outcome i want to get into the management business anyways and build my own roster of fighters my first client may very well be Brian Paul whose to be released in 3 months.

I think you can still get clearance with a heart mumur.
Its nothing super major. Its one of those things that
prevents you from being an astronaught etc...just in
case its something serious. I know a lad who fights
pro MMA who was unable to be a pilot due to a
heart mumur. But he is able to get clearance to fight.

If you wanna fight HH, you can still see if your able
to do it with such a condition.

The faith healer was Benny Hinn and I dont buy into Hinn's doctrine, he goes off course sometimes

I said I was going to post my fight on here the 29th but my fight has been rescheduled to this coming wedsneday. I am fighting some guy named Steve Montoya. There is no weigh-in or physical before my fight and he is penciled in at 165 and I am penciled in at 152. I am kinda at odds with ordeal. Should I be upset or is this a common thing in the amateurs? Also it is 3 rounds at 2 minutes a peice....

If you were my fighter, I wouldn't let you box anyone who outweighed you by 13 pounds in your first amateur bout. I fought a catchweight fight in the amateurs in which I was outweighed by about 30 pounds - but the difference was (a) it wasn't my first fight, (b) I had been boxing a 260 pound professional in the gym on a regular basis, and (c) I had seen the guy fight before so I knew what I was getting myself into.

Thanks I appreciate the feedback. Honestly he could very well outweigh me by quit a bit. I got myself down to 150 thinking there was going to be a weigh-in but I have been eating alot lately and I can barely get to 160 and this guy I am fighting could be a drainer and since he has had a week to bulk up,well there is no telling how big he is.

Id never put one of my guys in with a guy 10+ pounds heavier in his first fight unless i knew the other guy wouldnt kill him.

be cautious and best of luck mate, for all you know he could be a complete novice
