i fet the barker who struggled with strong, light hitting southpaw belgecham would have been broken down by the jamie moore we all like to remember.

Barker was very poor in his last fight even he agrees with that but he still won that was the main thing mooresy..

I just cant see how Barker beats Macklin - I suppose that statement will now see me proved wildly wrong.

I would agree with you. What makes this fight so intriguing is that even though both have been European title champions, neither have stepped it up and faced the cream of Europe yet at Middleweight. It's hard to really gauge their respective levels.

Asikanen should have been an acid test for Macklin, but it didn't really happen. They've both look impressive beating the upper levels of a rather poor British scene (I know there is Andy Lee and John Duddy to consider - but they don't base themselves here) - so it is tough to really judge. However, I was really quite dissapointed in Barker last time and I think there were bad warning signs there. I think Macklin's power will be too much.

Ok smart arse, that's how much you know about boxing. Before you make a daft statement you should check your facts. My last fight was on the undercard to David Haye at the MEN arena. 3 posts in and your slagging someone off. I'm not the fighter i was, i was the first to admit that, but Darren Barker would not do me in a round NOW, never mind 2 years ago, and i'm an old man. Stop being brave behind your keyboard.

Only time will tell but i think everyone is under-estimating barker big time. Every boxer commentator boxing fan etc rate barker so much it wasnt that long ago that allegedly said barker will win a world title this year......is no one feed up of every interview macklin does he keeps bringing up the jamie moore fight it was like two drunkens fighting outside a pub....

I right enjoyed watching Moore v Macklin and I'd stop away from any pub where the drunks could fight like that

moore's been in fights far more intense than that and handed it better. the 3rd jones fight and the one with macklin were a thousand times hotter, and moore had better composure than barker showed in that very shaky last fight.

are you really trying to compare the moore we saw on the haye undercard - in other words finished - to the PRIME barker who struggled to win a european title vs an andy lee victim?

Prime Moore? We are talking about a chap who got done by Ossie Duran and Scott Dixon. Yes. And don't start with the excuses please.. we know every fighter has them. Moore was limited and way overrated on this forum because he posts here. You were the one coming on saying he had a chance vs Paul Williams. Yes, that was actually you so don't try to say it wasn't.

Moores style is made for Barker. You could also say Barkers style is made for Moore. However, barker has much more skills in his repartoire. Macklin is overrated himself, as is Barker to be honest. However, I think this will be an easy fight for Barker. Easy UD. call me crazy now, but remember this post after the fight and try to be as unbiased as possible in your reply, if you have that in you.

Macklin's chin is cast iron! The Moore KO was more exhaustion in my opinion. Nothing at all taken away from JM for his win and amazing performance of course. Moore landed better shots earlier on.

I agree Smig, i hit him with harder shots earlier but it was more exhaustion and accumulation than one shot. Macklin's got a good chin, and as someone said before i haven't been overly impressed by Barker so far, although if he turn's in a good performance Vs Mat then it'll change my opinion, win or lose. For Barker to say Macklin's not in his league is crazy talk, and if Macklin blows him away, which is a possibilty, then he's gonna look pretty silly.

Barker will hit Macklin with shots he doesn't see, and that could be Macklin's downfall, assuming Barker gets out of the first four rounds. But obviously you hold me at a big disadvantage seeing that you fought him, so I will stand corrected here, and go for a later Barker KO. I see Darren winning regardless.

The scorecards were bullshit nobody can doubt that. I know i said belghecham won but ive since seen it 3 times and it was a draw 6 rounds to barker and 6 to belghecham. Barker gassed badly after 6 and ran for the rest of the fight. Belghecham finished the much stronger man. Jim watt said it was a good thing belghecham couldnt punch and i agree.

I also agree. Andy Lee would have been KOd again if belgecham could punch. Lee is also lucky that he didn't have to go 12 with belgecham like Barker did.

I was a big fan of Jamie Moore long before i posted on here or even heard of the place.Ive also come across him at shows and hes always been great when we have stopped him for a chat,no matter how pissed we have all been.Also,anyone who follows British boxing will never forget some of the wars he has given us.Ive nothing against Barker,but i have seen nearly all of his fights and dont recall any with great fondness.I bet Darren himself has an awful lot more respect for Jamie than you have.
