If hatton could get into any sort of shape I'd back him to beat khan. If tiny, old Michael Gomez can floor khan after closing him down, then I'm sure Ricky could have his moments too. Khan has become super human since he beat malignaggi, who lost 2 of his previous 4 and couldn't crack and egg.

No doubt Ricky will have faded badly and khan improved, but it wouldn't be a white wash.

I don`t think I could stand another Hatton build up, with the old classics coming out during every interview

"I only lost to the best two pund for pound fighters on the planet", "it`s not a tickling contest" and "Ricky Hatton knows that this is Ricky Hatton`s last chance"

Khan would blow Hatton away in a round or two at this stage. It`s pointless thinking how it would go when Hatton was at his peak (4 to 5 years ago in my opinion) cos it is never gonna happen.

All we call is what would happen if the fought now and Hatton would get badly mullered.

Hatton appears to have lost his fighting heart, and I think any comeback now against someone like khan could spell disaster.

Hatton isn't without a chance, but he has looked worn in his last few fights, and the cutting off of the ring which he used to be so good at it, has been replaced with trying to overwhelm his opponents with pure strength.

I'd rather see this fight made than Harrison/Haye.

I would favour the Hatton of now (well not now but if the 32 year old Ricky got to 10 stone properly) over the pre Roach Khan for sure.

Whilst I think people are right to favour Khan, Amir is still not getting the credit - its all about Hatton on the slide, Amir has been completed changed his attitude and style since moving to Roach and that must be applauded.

I would still think its hard to judge just how "shot" Ricky is, without seeing him in a warm up. It's not that long ago he put in a career best performance vs Malignaggi. A performance so good that people gave him a shot against Pacquiao. It was a performance matched by Khan, which for me is a signal of how well Khan has improved.

I would like to see Hatton is a relatively meaningful warm up before giving a prediction, I would favour Khan if he didn't.

Khan by a very quick KO. Hatton is shot and can't take a clean, fast dig, which is exactly what Khan would deliver very often.

Aye, I'd go with that, too. Hatton, to me, looks shot; a very bad defeat followed by an insanely long lay-off makes Hatton made just perfect for Khan. It would be sad to watch, a bit like watching Thaxton lose to Murray. I hope Hatton retires after having an incredible career.

Hatton stands ZERO chance of beating Khan.

Not sure about that, mate. Anyone with a half-decent punch could beat Khan.

If it were a drinking contest then there is only 1 winner, sadly I think Ricky would get embarrassed in much the sam eway that Pac-man beat him.

Prime Hatton gets in close (after maybe taking one or two on the way in) and finishes Khan off with a body shot within 3 rounds.

But now Khan probably KO's Ricky in about 3 rounds with a sharp right hand over the top.

The build up and hype would be great though - even if Ricky is shot now.

lucrative novetly fight. has to happen, doesn't it. i'm surprised it hasn't by now, because the stumbling block for wicky (apart from weight, conditioning, etc) was supposed to be FW, who no longer has khan.

At this stage Khan easily within 5. Hope it doesn't happen. Can't see Ricky getting anywhere near on weight again so very much doubt it will. He has looked terrible on the scales from Lazcano onwards and after his latest layoff I reckon that even if he does get his weight down he won't be in any kind of fighting shape.

Age, alcohol and a lack of training combined with a style that relied very much on physical attributes is going to see Ricky getting roasted in this 1. I forgot, as a boxer achieves more, fails more, he just doesn't want to push his body as hard as he did in the past. I don't even think Hatton has much of a punchers chance given he never was a big banger. Thats not to mention in his pomp Khan could possibly be all wrong for Hatton

Hatton was never anything that special to begin with!He was just a guy who cleverly marketed and who had a huge fan base, because of that he could get opportunities that fighters who couldnt draw couldnt ie people say he lost to the 2 best fighters of his era in Pacquaio and Mayweather but he never fought any of the other top dogs!He didnt fight judah when he was about at 140/147 and he didnt fight Cotto at 140 who i think would of brutally knocked hatton out!Hattons best win was against an old past his best Tszyu who had hardly fought in the four years running up to that fight!I dont mean to be horrible but thats my own opinion. :TU:

Ricky was very special. He never even had a huge fan base to begin with,he attracted them with great performances.

I'd beg to differ. I think he looks gaunt.

I agree, Hatton started looking like Skeletor at his last few weigh-ins, he really did seem to be struggling to get to the weight, just didn't look healthy to me.

Hatton, to me, looked gaunt all the way through his career. In that picture for the Malignaggi fight he looked fine, and delivered one of his best performances. If Hatton could make 10st, then he would have a puncher's chance against Khan - most 140lb'ers would, too.

That's my view. Hatton looked like a beast at the weight on that weigh in. I don't usually get patriotic about Boxing, but I did feel "proud" about seeing Ricky at the weigh in. He looked the business. He looked as good as any of his generations greats at their peak.

He did look ill against Pacquiao and remained pale in the fight.

But I do get your general point. If Khan's persona was like ricky's when he was coming up alot of people would have more respect for his talent, which is considerable
WHat exactly was wrong with his persona? apart from his skin colour which was all wrong to the hardcore of his critics.

He used to wear the Union Jack trunks, used to speak up for the armed forces , was nice in front of the cameras.

yeah he got in a few car accidents in flash cars but the kid was 19-20 and already an olympic silver medalist with money.

I think the whole he avoided Jonathan Thaxton and shitty level domestic fighters is a smokescreen for jealousy and envy from the pissheads.

Nah, that's pretty accurate. If Hatton even manages to get back to a fighting weight, he's certainly lost his will. It would be very, very short.
I'm not saying it will happen because I don't think it will, but if Hatton made 10st again then that would prove to me that his will is back. He may be shot, but if he landed correctly then he could knock Khan out; that I have no question about.

He did avoid Jon Thaxton. Warren wanted Khan nowhere near Jono just in case Jono landed another Scrap Iron Ryan shot. Stupid thing is Khan would have stopped him inside about 3 rounds.
