they both did basically the same job on Ramirez, for what its worth, who was the only common opponent I can think of....big lennox wrote:True.I was being a bit harsh there, but I did hear an intereview with Emmanuel Steward that said a young up and coming whitacker absolutely hammered Hector, although sparring is not the same as a real bout.I thought Chavez had his measure though.Counter-puncher wrote:not really fair, Camacho was probably 3 years or more past peak at that point?big lennox wrote:.Also, Trinidad did a job on him.

I'll be going to this.
Counterpuncher I disagree with you Hamed didnt go on to be a better boxer than Camacho snr. Unlike Hamed Camacho snr did try and test himself against the best more than once. He took on Chavez,Trinidad and DeLaHoya and Rosario and Ramirez were better than anyone Hamed beat.

i think you'll find the above post would have been better directed at someone else. someone who actually made the claim you are trying to rebut would be a start.mugabi wrote:I'll be going to this.

Re: Hector Camacho is coming to Cardiff!
Do you know what Pat Thomas is up to these days?
Re: Hector Camacho is coming to Cardiff!
Pat told me years and years ago that a fighter should always hold his hands high. "A fighter's guard is the only real protection he has in there," said the great Cardiff champion.
When I see a fighter holding his hands low and eventually getting chinned, I remember it.

I used to work for Pat when he owned a coachbuilding firm in about 1990, really nice fella. Last I heard he was still training kids in Fairwater.
Re: Hector Camacho is coming to Cardiff!
There must be some well-trained kids in Fairwater.

You should speak with Dave Furnish, he has done loads of successful dinner shows.
