Charlie Zelenoff was that the internet nerd who took our a licence? Or do I mix him up?

There was a guy called Elisha Obed who started with the best record and finished with the worst.

Paul Royston is the worst British ''fighter'' I've ever seen live at a show.

The two bums that Jeffries and Price faced a while back, think it was on the Haskins vs Broadhurst show that fell over in about 3 seconds shouln't have been allowed to fight in the UK, the board official that sanctioned it should have been sacked immediately.

Yeh the fella Price fought was very iffy. It was like someone said, walk through that curtain, put on your goggles and close the lid over you. The UV lights will go off when its finished, he walked through and found an 18 stone 8ft 4 Scouser wanting to jab his head off.

I've never boxed in my life but I'm pretty sure I'd have a winning record against Price's opposition so far.

All of them with the exception of Peret have been absolutely terrible, I'm really not sure what Frank is doing with these heavyweights. He's got all the ingredients to have a really good English title level tournament but instead is lining each of them up against shocking opponents that just fall over.

We've got a really good potential top 10 at HW, the two best are facing each other in a rematch, Fury and McDermott have fought twice - Frank's lads need to be put up to the mark.

Surely it makes more economical sense rather than keeping Latvia Airlines in business?

Delroy Spencer aint to good, won 11 (KO 1) + lost 103 (KO 12) + drawn 3 = 117...

Been in with some Good fella's tho and only KO'd 12 times. Fighting and going the distance with the like's of Nicky Booth (Twice), Jamie McDonnell, Paul Weir, Johnny Armour, Don Broadhurst, Scott Quigg, Ian Napa and Shinny Bayaar (Three Times) to name a few. Beating The like's of Chris Edwards, Luke Wilton, Keith Knox who holds a win against Damaen Kelly for the British flyweight title Commonwealth fly weigh title, Colin Moffett Irish bantamweight Champion.

How the hell was he allowed in with Banks?

Was shocking that.

I mentioned on another thread Karl Taylor is 2-101-3 since losing to Hatton. He's well into his 40's - the board ought to be looking at him I think.

Kirino Garcia was the guy who fought Steve Roberts. Don't think he fought Farnell.

Not the worst record, but possibly the most likely style to get KO'd i've ever seen.
funny thing Jim Smith only had one fight.

I remember Chuck Gardner with great fondness! Bruno was given a lot of stick for this fight...I remember some paper saying he looked like a fat blueberry.

Interesting facts about Chuck:

1. He beat Mike Tyson on points.....(ok not THAT one),
2. He beat Jimmy YOung (admittedly an old one)
3. He fought (though got done by) 4 former or future Heavyweight world champs, Frank Bruno, John Tate, Trevor Berbick, Tony Tucker
4. He beat the fairly decent Mike The GIant White
5. He also fought the biggets puncher ever The Acorn, Earnie Shavers
6. As well as Mike Tyson, he alos beat Charles Atlas (no, not that one)

I think I may be one of Chuck's biggest fans

I was also thinking of Paladino.....I think he was a goalkeeper for some pro football team.

Then he turned to boxing (a poor man's Curtis Woodhouse if you will!)

http://boxrec.com/list_bouts.php?human_ ... &cat=boxer

But looking at his record he fought some decent guys, and considering he had no real experience (I don't think he had an amateur fight)...Julius Francis, Scott Welch, Danny Williams, Willie Fischer, Garry Delaney, Pele Reid, Kevin Mcbride.....

You can't really knock him - if he had struck to small hall shows against lower level British heavies, he would have a reasonable record.

I know Joey and he is a good guy, boxed for Britannia ABC in St Helens under the late, sadly missed Tommy Duffy, he was a goalkeeper for the Wigan Athletic and Everton youth teams and toured the Soviet Union with Wigan Ath in 1989 - one of the first British footballing teams to do so. This was before he turned to boxing.

He was a good fighter but badly managed. He had skills but if he would have been matched properly he could have done something, thats not only my opinion but Steve Holdsworth who saw the fight Joe had with Scott Welch and gave a good account of himself, stunning Welch on more than one occasion before being stopped in the third.

Joe is a smart, funny guy with a good yarn or twenty up his sleeve, someone from boxrecnews should give him a bell because he would have you an interview and a half. :TU:

If you are reading this big man - I hope you are well.

He about 8 or 10 so you are pretty much bang on about him being a novice in regards actual fights. Joey has always been a practical soul and reasoned that getting punched in the head for nothing is a mugs game when you could get paid for it. He made a lot of money out of his pro career and invested it wisely. However, if he had a few more seasons as an amateur he would have been pretty formidable (in my opinion) he had size, decent speed and was game.

Good stuff, interesting.

Another who didn't quite seem to get the breaks was Darren Westover, I think he came with some ama pedigree but got his bubble burst by the Bad Mamma Jamma, who in turn had his burst by Darren Corbett..who in turn had his burst by some 6-5 novice (remember watching that live from ringside...poor showing).
