Why not add "or lands on his chin" to your incredible forecast too? Then you've got all bases covered hey Barry ?

Golovkin knocked spark out Lucian Bute and outboxed Dirrell in recent times. He looks pretty well schooled to me.

If Andy lee is afraid of Golovkin then he shouldnt be in the buisness. Golovkin is beatable from what ive seen of him , he really doesnt like body shots, they actually stop him in his tracks and if i a mere boxing fan can pick up on that then you can bet a top boxer and his team will also. Remember he was a brilliant amateur but in the pros he hasnt beaten no one.(It was Gardner and Greenidge that gave him trouble check it out on youtube)
He also hasnt done 10 rounds yet and please dont say because he knocked them out, his competition has been piss poor for a man with such a reputation.
Whoever said Andy Lee is afraid of Golovkin? I'm talking about steering him to a World title. Golovkin would knock out Andy Lee. Simples. And everyone is beatable.

Andy has great physical tools and he is good. He handled Gibbs easily, but he will always beat Gibbs type fighters who rely on one big bomb at a time. His weakness is tough fighters with great energy who rough him up, get in the trenches and eventually wear him down.
He doesnt like a war, he pretends that he does, but it just doesnt suit a 6ft 2 man at 160lbs to be getting into a big physical struggle. At range he can boss the ring. He must be weight drained most of the time and if he moves up in weight he will lose some of his reach advantages.

Thiam was like a dwarf standing next to Andy and Walker is two inches shorter than Thiam is.
I cannot believe that Belgecham was so highly rated going into the fight with Andy, as he just didnt bother fighting at all until the last 2 rounds when he nearly took Andy's head off. Andy easily outpointed him in the same fashion as most boxers outpoint their punching bag, but had the Frenchman started throwing punches two rounds earlier things may have been different.

Hes a nice fella and he has every chance of being a world champ some day soon, but he wouldnt have beaten Kelly Pavlik at Middleweight.

Andy lee schooled angulo by a country mile in the olympics, does that mean he beats him now? He also schooled Barker (with a broken hand) and Mcewan and stopped them from going to the big competitions? Does that mean he beats them now?

Lucian Bute was getting robbed badly in that fight and his trainer told him to go for the knock out and he stormed in and got countered by an excellent counter puncher. Doesnt mean anything now......

I like to bet on certain fighters i know a bit about and i look for flaws in their game, not out of badness but to make a few quid. Mr Golovkin, Korobov have a few weaknesses, golovkin puts every bit of himself into his punches and fades down the stretch when he cant get his man out of there. Watch the Gardner fight where he gets extremely ragged and starts throwing hail marys and missing wildly... thanks to Gardners medicore lateral movement (thats all it takes). Watch the Greenidge fight if you want to see what stops Golovkin in his tracks and takes the sting out of the little guy.

Dont get me started on Korobov who cant even do a six rounder at age 28. Yet people want to give want to give them god like status and i just laugh.....

26 year old Sergio martinez wouldnt of beaten pavlik at middle weight either. But your right on a few things. :TU:

This fight is purely business it would seem. More exposure state side against an opponent that will make Lee look really good. He is still at the learning stage of his career but he won't learn a single thing from this fight. Fighting nobodies is not doing his development any favours. We all saw what happened to Jacobs when he took the big step up. Lee needs to fight a borderline contender a.s.a.p. Someone like Lajuan Simon, Craig McEwan, Proska.

A victory over Vera would rid him of some demons and reassure him that he has matured as a fighter. I personally wouldn't mind seeing that either.

Andy is ranked 16 with boxrec.I juut looked at the top 15 to see was their any clues as to who he might be boxing, but each and every one of the top 15 has a fight pencilled in for the coming months,it seems i was getting excited for nothing.

Martinez started boxing when he was 21 I believe. Lee started much earlier and is an Olympian. You can't compare the two at that age. I don't think Lee will get much better than he is now, and he certainly won't if he continues fighting weak opponents.

Stuttering middleweight prospect Andy Lee takes on American trier Michael Walker in a 10-rounder in Chicago on September 17.
Lee, a former Olympian trained by Emanuel Steward, with Joey Gamache and even Angelo Dundee occasionally chipping in, is a heavy handed, charismatic Irishman based largely in the States, where heavy handed, charismatic Irishmen draw big crowds – think of Gerry Cooney. However, he is rebuilding, having already been built up once, in the wake of a seven-round pounding at the hands of tough Texan Brian Vera in the States in March 2008, which took away his 15-fight unbeaten record. Lee actually started well that night but couldn’t put Vera away and quickly ran out of ideas as he busted up and shipped too many right hands. Worryingly, the big Limerick man showed a lack of boxing instinct, never looking to claim the stocky, aggressive Vera under fire. It was Duane Bobick against Ken Norton all over again.
Since then, southpaw Lee has reeled off seven wins to take his record to 22-1 (16) but something seems to have left the 26-year-old, almost as if Vera 'broke' him. Nevertheless, nice guy Andy is still beating opponents and scored an unpleasant five-round knockout of Missouri’s overmatched James Cook last month in Oklahoma. Cook spent some time on the canvas after a brutal body assault.
Next up is Walker, a Chicago 32-year-old with decent enough stats at 19-4-2 (12), but the stats don’t tell you that he has lost his last three, four of his last five and was stopped for the first time in his career by the unbeaten Fernando Guerrero in his most recent outing in April. Now is a great time to fight a man who holds a 2008 points win over bullet-ridden Antwun Echols. Lee is sharp and ready to go, after the Cook massacre, whereas Walker has fought infrequently over the last few years. The 10 rounds, for him, looks optimistic.
Lee takes him out early.

Still waiting slap, you should come on and say if a proposed fight is still going ahead or what is happening, you shouldn't be saying things off the cuff.

And after Lee's latest 'Triumph in Tank Town' over a fighter who had lost his previous three fights I feel obliged to 'bump' this as to the best of my knowledge we're still waiting to be enlightened Slap...

I hear what you're saying, but surely there has to be a happy medium in terms of him facing someone who is at least going to prepare him for "a big one". I just can't see the benefit of this type of fight.
