Some more from Maidana...........
http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/maidana ... amir-57659
In response to Amir Khan’s comments stating that Marcos Maidana and his team are overpricing a possible fight between them next December 11, Maidana has this to say:
“I’m focused 100% in my fight next Saturday against Demarcus Corley at the moment. But I still have some time to take a look at the news, so yesterday I’ read yet another lie from Amir Khan on the news and here is my answer. Khan is saying that we are overpricing the fight which is completely false since we didn’t even start any negotiations with Golden Boy Promotions, whatsoever. I want the fight, that’s it. But we never discussed any money figures for that bout to happen December 11″, Maidana said.
“Khan, the king of liars, is at it once again when it comes to talk about fighting me. He is trying to make boxing fans believe that I’m overpricing myself when in reality that is an excuse from Khan not to face me,” Maidana added.

Even the fastest guys still get hit!Mayweather has a brilliant defense but still takes big shots from time to time! You're trying to make out that Khan will be like neo out of the matrix!

did i say paulie was mandatory?

i said salita was, so your saying 2 of the first 3 defences of a title you HAVE to fight 2 mandatory's? dog shite mate! since when does anybody face mandatory's anymore? froch didn't fight 1 mandatory in his 3! since when has mayweather..marquez..pacman?
Taylor was froch's mandatory actually!

So was Dirrell, who was No 2 when the No 1, Ward, boxed Kessler instead.

I fancy Khan to clean up the division. Maidana like Malinaggi will stuggle to get close enough to land on Khans chin. Since Khan went with Freddie Roach he has been taught to fight in a manner that suits him hands tight to the chin and hammer home the jab. If he keeps the same game plan against Maidana and Bradley neither will even get close enough to do any damage through fear of the big shots.

Khan doesnt hit as hard as Ortiz thats utter bollocks!

Repetitive clean shots from a decent puncher will wear down almost any fighter at some point. Maidana is easy to hit, and I'm sure Khan can stop him if he really turns it on. I have always favored Khan by stoppage against Maidana. Maidana can punch, but he is so limited, and I don't believe he is some sort of unusually durable ironman.
To be fair mate he got up 3 times against ortiz from pretty heavy knockdowns.

Maidana can bang! Khan is fast and really really accurate, everybody has to take big shots from time to time. for me Khan stops Maidana. but Bradley ko's Khan imo, he's a tough natural light-welterweight. i think theyre styles would clash

I think you need to watch more boxing if you think that was a jab.

He has obviously improved since that time though. Khan has now been in with a couple of fighters who are much better than Prescott, and they were unable to lay a glove on him. We know Khan does not have a good chin, but when opponents are unable to connect with it, they are cannot hurt him.

That just shows his defense is poor he leaves himself open when throwing punches, Khan would have a field day jumping in and out and landing shots on his chin.
Lets not forget this is a guy who lost to kotelnik someone who khan dominated with ease.

He means the first punch. It was a jab.I have supported Amir on here(didnt even know it rhymes!)for a long time so have no reason to dispute it.I also think he will be virtually unbeatable if he keeps his chin out of the way(a stupid statement in Boxing,i know)

Maybe you should watch more boxing too since it was a left hook.

Khan is just like anyone , you will always look good against non punchers and smaller guys , the pressure is'nt there , lets see what he does when he leads a lot more tentativly , cos he's worried whats gonna come back , that on its own will make for a different fight.

Despite dominating Malinaggi, I thought Khan was living his chin in the air quite a bit when attacking. He has improved a lot under Roach, but he's still there for exploiting.

yup. when he throws flurries he still looks a bit amateurish and his chin pops up

this is why Roach has him working on a very minimal/low maintenance gameplan IMO, based on doubling and tripling the jab, when he does this and not much else he is like someone said above very difficult to beat.

33seconds into it ... when was the last time you seen somebodies legs quiver from a jab? ... or hook if thats what
you call it?
There is no argument that Khan is a very special boxer. He is superbly tallented without doubt
But there is no doubt either that he has a very bad chin. Bags of bottle how he will get back up ... but bad chin.
He has improved since moving to Roach. But much as he was at most danger when attacking early on .. he still is today. Roach has just made him stay on the outside more against classier opponents. Lets see how he does against a classy guy like Bradley

Yeah maybe he is willing to take shots to get in his own but Khan can fire quick combos that would mean he would be taking a massive gamble taking a shot top get in close.

I understand what you're saying but at some point im convinced khan will get hit with a big shot and then it'll show how far he's come along since going up in weight, etc.

Apparently Maidana looked like shit in his fight tonight with the shot Demarcus Corley. Corley went the distance and won 5 rounds on one of the scorecards. I am very confident that Khan would beat Maidana.
