I would also like to say not neither of these fighters were "hype jobs". Both men were devastating punchers!!!

There are not many people who would omit Dempsey and Marciano from their Heavyweight top 10s, and that in itself should tell you both of these guys were the real deal.

Dempsey all day long. Marciano was very good, but Dempsey was a different league.

Just in case I haven't been clear, I would bet on Dempsey and feel my money was fairly safe.

AND I think there is a good education process going on here. 7 years ago, this pole would have been 35 to 5 for Marciano.

I feel substantial progress has been made.

If you think Dempsey's, "only advantage" over Marciano is speed, you don't know the first thing about what is advantageous & what is not. Dempsey has it all over Marciano, & he'd have his gloves all over him in the ring, too.

I have a high opinion of Rocky but I pick the Mauler nevertheless.

You don't have to be a stick and move artist for reach to matter . .
