Drugs problem - read some peoples opinions concerning Hatton and his denial about drugs - the first thing you do is go into denial.
Depends if it recreational or he does it all the time.

Got to imagine Ricky is getting better stuff than you or me, 6 big lines of decent stuff in an hour suggests he has built up some resistance to it.

Unless it's shite, he's greedy, or has a big appetite for it.

Personally I'd say it's because like most cocaine in this country it's of a very low quality.

Even coke that's shipped in from source isn't 100% pure, I doubt any cocaine even when it comes from the production line is 100% pure.

the woman who recorded him, i wonder who - if anyone - put her up to it. obviously there is the paper, but a lot of ppl probably don't want ricky to succeed, and some powerful ppl have influence with the papers. i'm not saying there are connections here, and not suggesting any individual or organisation - or that there's anything illegal or wrong if someone put someone up to exposing it. if nothing else, ricky's antics will be pleasing the ghouls, the tabloids and the competition.

I know where you are going about it and I think you are right, so if it was common knowledge in boxing circles that Ricky Hatton was sniffing the devil dust the the people at the top as well as the bottom would have known - what are the NOTW links to boxing? It would benefit certain parties to kill off the Hatton empire even before it took off (sue me you pudenda - I love in China and have fornicate all :TU: )

some ppl will definitely be loving it, though that's not to suggest they - whoever THEY are - were involved.

hatton has responsibilities, he's supposed to be running a successful promotional outfit. he has a nice little stable of fighters. i'd hate to see it all fall apart.

Strikes me as a very confused interview, probably not surprising as he does appear very down, either through depression, sedation (often part of the treatment of depression) or, as Spud says, denial. Ricky definitely doesn't seem to have a clear picture of his situation at the moment, a degree of contradiction/confusion/possibly denial in that interview.

The reason he will have done the interview in the first place, washed his dirty linen in public so to speak, is probably twofold. 1) A big part of most addiction/depression therapies is to front up to your problems, admit them in order for you to accept them yourself and recover from them — I'm not sure he is at that stage of readiness yet, hence the confusion that is evident in the interview; 2) Celebrities are encouraged to do that in public (maybe Max Clifford advised him?) in order to to try and win back the support they lost — face the world, say 'I've got a problem and I'm sorry I let you down'. But on the evidence of this interview, I don't think Ricky was ready to face the cameras just yet and that he would have been better advised to keep his head down, get over his problems in private, then speak to the media once his head was a little clearer. Understandably, I don't think he knows what's what at the moment.

It can happen at any age. I dont know the facts. But Ricky has given his life to make them have some kind of economic sustainability and affluence.

he's paid with his health and he is only 31 and the same fire that got him to the very higher echelons burns in him but what can he do? get back in the ring? he's trying to replace it with something.

The worst thing he could have done , worse than taking that left hook from pacquio would be taking any kind of sedatives or depression medicine.....that will make him fat and not cure the problem. To this day I have never seen anyone benefit from it.

Mix the drink in and its clear why he is confused and feeling unhappy

Good post. Wrong time to give an interview of such magnitutde, you can't start walking the path of recovery if you haven't yet got your feet.

Part of me is thinking it's a schoolboy error by Clifford, but I doubt it, more a case of Hatton not yet able to relinquish control of the reigns and thinks he knows what's best.

He doesn't.

interview was an embarassment of epic proportions

Couldnt remember when he first took it, where he took it, how many times he took, and from who he got it from (amnesia is fair enough in this case)

After her said that I just turned off

By answering that he doesn't know how many times he's 'dabbled' indicates to me that he's done it far more than he's prepared to admit.

Suggests to me that it's absolute shite. Don't believe that celebs get better stuff. A mate of mine used to sort Robbie Williams out with a bit of sniff, and it was absolute crap.

This Hatton bollox is getting very tiresome now. When did Boxrec become the News of the World??

there's rapists and paedofiles running amok out there, all he's done is taken drugs. It's his mess and he'll sort it out although he wants to get the fck off TV in my book.

Drugs are for Mugs. Certain tabloid "newspapers" are scum, and some female boxers from that island near England are treacherous little money-grabbing skanks allegedly. I hope the one I'm thinking of gets stopped in her next fight!

Could not have said it better myself!

All this pish about how "I've let everyone down" - "this is going to be the biggest fight of my life". Fcuk off, get your arse out of that clinic and man up about the situation.

I'll likely get jumped on for this, but i doubt the severity of his depression is anything more than skin deep. Once he's given himself a good break from the coke and booze for a bit he'll be right as rain faster than the Pope can say Amen to that!

The problems were on the horizon , when he first started referring to himself in the third person, since then its simple he's a pisshead, and he snorts so he can get a quick high from the drug , and a longer high from the piss , his benders can go from 8 hours to 16 hours with the powder , don't be suprised if he's mixing a bit of whizz in with it so he can drink 24 hrs

All in all to much money , time and fame , being in a constant state of pissed in pubs and clubs is just a substistute for thousands screaming his name .

mentaly very frail and not grew up yet, hence blaming his parents , crock off really, but does show just how much say and control they have had over him .

Guy wants too grow up , part of him is a hard edged buisness man , part is a immature boy ,

One thing for sure though , besides the piss which the world knows about , i reckon you could bet your last dollar , he's been sniffing for a long long time . . Really just step back and look at him , he don't look like no 31 year old athlete , his face looks haggard he looks a lot older ..Fack sake i've got 5 grandkids and i look in better condition than him , (better looking too )

But above all this blaming everyone else c'mon its bollocks ,

Be a man Hatton tell the world to fack off and mind its own buisness, . Or accept responsibility for your own actions ,

Facking world is full of sniveling little toe rags , robbing old women , beating old people , raping kids and all sorts of terrible things , then standing in court crying it was'nt my fault i did'nt hve toys when i was a kid ,

Now we got facking ex world champ boxers , snivelling like a little girl blaming his mam and dad . be Billy Grahams fault next for shouting at him in training

HATTON = SNIVELLING LITTLE RUNT., blaming his parents for fack sake .

Really who cares anyway , let him go , he'll become even more obnoxious , lose more freinds , spend more money buying new freinds , pay for all his new freinds , make some really bad coke inspired buisness deals get caught go to jail , end up broke , living back with mommy and daddy , then selling his story to the NOTW , sniffing it again , kicked out of mamas house , ending up in a half way house on collyhurst road , drinking with the wino's .

And this person could'nt give a shite . Some people have NOTHING a nd struggle to get by . This guy has had adulation all his life so fack him if he blows it.

Having all that means nothing if you suffer mental health issues, it may look rosy to us having all that money etc.. but mental health is as much a disease as any of the more traditional illnesses.
