Whilst Hatton is unproven at world level, he hasn't been beating featherweights as you put it, admittefly Steve Smith and Aldo Rios were lightweights, but Phillips wasn't.

We won't know what Tackie has left in terms of ambition until the night of the fight.

I was being a bit cheeky I admit, but If what I have read about Accra & Ghana is still true, he COULD have been getting better and more consistent preparation than Hatton is by fighting hand-picked opponents in front of shrinking crowds.

I agree about Tackie - he is going to be one of those fighters who will suddenly look diminished and worn because he's a guy who has always taken a few, whilst marching forward. The accumulation of these shots may have already taken it's toll, it may not.

I think he'll probably get worn down and stopped by Hatton - wouldn't put the house on it, but am reasonably confident. I'd like to see Hatton box at range and on his toes for a good few rounds before really picking up the pace - if you start throwing the big bombs at him early, I reckon Tackie can take them all night.

Anyway I couldn't resist passing comment in what seemed to be such a cosy little chat!

Richard Maynard just sent an email changing the time of the weigh in, so I find it highly unlikely that the fight is about to be cancelled.

James, yes it sounds like a daft windup.

You get it a lot on Betfair forums in particular, generally designed to attempt a drift in the odds. Pretty sad really, but it goes on.

Unless the time is changed to February.

The thing is, it's a weigh in, not a press conference.

I suppose they might be taking the opportunity to use it as a press conference....

If Ricky's eye has been cut again, I think that is a bad sign indeed, as he will probably have re-opened the same eye.

changing the weigh in time so close to the event is very unusual.
obviously something isnt quite right.... probably something minor but you never know.
