Problem is, I think he may get laid out again.... although I hope he doesn't.
Will people stop knocking him now?
Come on Amir!

I can see the fight now, maidana gets knocked down, gets up and is fine only for khan to unload a super fast flurry of eye catching punches......fight over without even getting hit properly then tells us all that there is nothing wrong with his chin because he just beat a massive puncher.
For heaven's sake what do you want him to do... stand their like Ricardo Mayorga and let Maidana tee off on him... fookin' hell some people just don't get it do they! Now if I remember, the whole idea of this sport is to hit the other guy and not get hit back!

No i wouldn't expect him to stand there and take shots,i'm just saying i won't be convinced that his chin has improved (as some on here are claiming )until he gets hit hard and comes back to win thats all.

lol i bet you do.
I just fail to be convinced or impressed to date.
Make no mistake, I think he is as thick as two short planks and his set of fans are some of the biggest pr*cks to ever emerge at fights - but i'd like him to prove me wrong.
I wont be interested in petrified 12 round snooze fests like his Kotelinik fight though.

is any of that contrary to any boxing rules?? I thought if you landed a flurry of unanswered punches on an opponent without signs that you're going to stop was a legitimate way to win a fight........if the guy doesn't wanna lose that badly he could always duck 'em or get out the way or counter, if his ability allows it....

I think you need to go to specsavers as I've not had a go at anyone on this thread- and forgive me, but I ain't seen anyone make out that maidana is anything than a crude, gritty puncher.
But right on cue, as soon as you state the obvious your suddenly a hater.
Khan will get blown away again, mark my words. His chin is horrible and a superstar trainer can't rectify that.

I think it's ridiculous how a sanctioning body deems some south american bumpkin who was beaten by a guy who Khan beat easily as #1 challenger after beating an American hype job.

I don't think Khan has shown any weaknesses in the chin department since losing to Prescott, in fact I'd wager it's better now he's fighting at the higher weight. While he'll never be Marvin Hagler in the chops area I don't think he's as vulnerable as people make out. Plus, the defensive improvements he's made stand him in good stead for if he does get hurt. Also, apart from the Prescott debacle he showed he could fight back after being hurt too.

.... and what decent punchers have he met since the Prescott defeat ...?
Khan has always looked a million dollars attacking lighter, lesser punchers .... Roach has merely reigned Khan in.

there's nothing wrong with Khan's chin. It's not the best in the game but it's not as bad as some fools like to make out. Anyway, the object is to avoid getting punched! and he's shown he's pretty good at that. :>

Decked 5 times in 23 fights at journeyman level.
I'd say his chin was garbage.

But Khan didn't dominate Kotelnik, he ran from him all night. Big difference.
Styles make fights, Kotelnik has a great chin & tight defence, Khan does not.
Well done to Amir for finally taking on a dangerous opponent, the only time he has done so previously was inadvertently versus Breidis Prescott who we all thought was a bum.
MAIDANA KO5 KHAN.

5 times? I didn't think it was that many, but you're right, his chin is dire.

Journeyman level? Would that be Commonwealth champion Limond who was a journeyman? Or British champion Michael Gomez? Or then-unbeaten prospect Breidis Prescott?
I'm not saying Khan has a stout chin, but throwing around the "journeyman" tag is insulting to some decent fighters.

Maidana is a committed puncher but he's no man-beast. People ARE making Maidana out to be murderous. Yes, he could beat Khan, as any aggressive puncher with power could, but he's flat-footed, always square-on and is very limited. I would expect Khan to win, but with that chin... you never know.
