Boxingchat - I agree the comments are a little out of order.

The board should make it agenda item 2 after discussing non payment of fighters purses

I expect Haye will apologise if his remarks caused offence. After he kos Audley though.

I've noticed true boxing people are going off Haye in a big way.

His choice of opponent, his 'chat' and throw in the fact Chisora is looking at taking on Wlad, is making him look even more of a dick.

haye own's a small portion of the world title & is really sitting on it which makes him look silly for chasing the klits previously.

i remember him saying the last undisputed cruiser who stepped up was holyfield & he reighned.haye never unified the division, but was ring champion for the weight & holyfield fought 8 times against ranked opposition before getting a crack.

That statement has to be one of the most elitist, arrogant and outrageous comments made on this "public" boxing forum.

A true boxing fan is someone who travels to fights, buys Boxing Weekly and also Boxing Monthly if it's next to it on the shelf. And it's their opinions in 'readers letters' and on boxing forums I'm noticing. Casual fans who buy the odd PPV and cant name more than 3 or 4 active boxers don't really have much of an opinion.

Many of which had been to the Valuev fight and met him ringside, had subsequently changed their opinion on him.

Without casual fans boxing would be dead. Every sport has casual fans, as well as the die-hards. I view PPV's (although rarely pay ), do not buy either Weekly or Monthly, and have only attended shows in my area. I also train in boxing 3x per week, and will fight, albeit white collar, soon. Where do I fit in?

Boxing Weekly? Good luck finding a copy of that - when was the last issue out, 1989?

As for casual fans who buy the odd PPV - their 15 quid is worth the same as anyone else's 15 quid!

I agree. I hate this culture where everyone gets 'offended' at any comment.

It was a distasteful comment. But way too much is being made of it.

I mean if Haye said he was going to murder Harrison; people would just take it as a figure of speech. You wouldn't get murder victim support groups going crazy.
