What pleased me most about that display was how he reacted under pressure- Kirakosyan landed quite a few big shots in that 3rd round that had Foster holding on, and rather than panic or go into his shell, he kept measuring his opponent, throwing in the openings, and wound up timing him beautifully for the KO.

i thought foster jr looked strong & fit, but looked very messy with the holding and seemed edgy. no wonder as he's not mixed it in championship class for a long time - 3 years. his leaning in looks dangerous as you can push down on his neck, or hit him with uppercuts. but he was very quick with that left jab and hook, took the big punch and came back with better.

oh, that's right, spud. it is literally all about you.

Nigeltsport in a subtle and dastardly plot, posted a Foster interview, not to share with boxing fans, or to celebrate an excellent victory for Foster, but to serve as a sltalking-horse to do you down somehow. the villain!

well done for ruining a thread and dragging it down just to air one of your autistically blinkered hobbyhorse obsessions.

i love the way you try to present your autistic obsessiveness as a brave defence of what you see is right. your inflated idea of your own importance is breathtaking, and not a little sad and pathetic.

I would love to reply - but boxrec in its quest for fairness allows you guys to write as you see fit - however I am not allowed an opinion.

(i see this ^^ bit spud just posted has disappeared. my god, maybe he's right, there is a conspiracy.... CP checks under his car for bombs/bugs/electronic tracking devices before driving away possibly never to return)

see, paranoia like this above could mean either (a) there is a complex and mysterious conspiracy against you or (b) you are barking fvcking mad.

paranoia is an inverted form of intense arrogance, the way it manifests itself in your case. you brave campaigner for truth and justice, you. keep up the important work, though.

So pleased for Steve lost a majority to him in the ams, proper nice lad- finally getting somewhere after been wasted for years. Think he should build on this- the kid was a world class amateur!! He deserves every success he gets,

Couldn't agree more. When he steps up in class, i cant help but feel it could get a bit messy for him.

There you go again Eric - I have not stated one single bad thing about the Hatton website - the website is excellent in its content.

What I have done is criticise what I believe is "double standards" that goes on within this site and in addition I have criticised that interviews wether that be in written or oral format are coming up on this forum from other websites before our excellent boxrec reporters have had a chance to get their own excellent reports on the site - if we are saying this is okay I will start to put on this forum a lot of the very good stuff coming from Mr W arren's website. :TU: that is just one example.

Eric, in the past posters on this forum have criticised other promotional companies saturating this website with their press releases - whats the difference with Hatton promotions doing what they are doing? If we are stating there is nothing wrong in doing what they are doing then ok - I am perfectly okay with that - but do not criticise some promotional companies but leave others to do as they wish.

So what do you want us mods to do? Delete every negative comment posted about HS Press? HS Press is allowed to post as much as he wants to. I don't think any press release has blocked or deleted - yes sure there have been criticisms of it. But that's just free speech and, I have to say, its often based on the actual content that HS Press says and the fact it is "robotic" like, no response to the criticism nothing. At least you had a response from Nigel.

Again, I feel the criticisms labelled about HS Press are more to do with content of the press release and his/her/it's lack of a responses/replies to concerns/rumours regarding fights etc. I'm sure if Nigel started really trolling the website with reports on Steve Fosters first crap as EBU champion and it wasn't informative - then again I'm sure the criticisms will come. At the moment though, the PR's have generally been good and offer something very different. However, the impression you are giving is if THIS SITE is responsible (in its editing and moderation) of the lack of criticisms of that website and at the same time responsible for the criticisms of others (you've noted HS Press, so I will continue to use them as an example). The only criticisms I have seen are based on its content and YEARS (which is important) of "robotic" like responses to questions. Constructive criticism it is - the lack of a response to the constructive criticism has left some posters very frustrated.

Its very good your fighting the good fight for the boxrec news lads - but the editor has moderator status, so I am sure if there was such a problem then he can pitch it with the rest of the mods. We do regularly talk about content of weblinks etc.

I think boxrec still has one of the best and fairest policies when it comes to promoting other sites and I continue to commend the attitude Ian especially has towards promoting other news stories. I mean SINCE the Boxrec news has started we at the British forum have a sticky for information on a rival news site (BS). This is far more of a "direct" "rival" really, as it doesn't just promote one site, and it doesn't often cite video links etc. Why haven't you criticised that sticky?

Stu,

Thank you for the response - both of us have made some very valid points - overall if it were you who travelled a couple of hours to a venue then rushed back to write your report then work into the early hours to get your report up onto the website only to see that very website promoting another report from another site - you would think "what was the rush" and your report would surely be considered old news??

In addition I am a little more aware of what is going on with "boxing politics" and "websites" than you and many others give me credit for and I am also very aware there have been many legal issues going on to do with boxing websites and thus trust me on this the points I am making are even more valid than you and others would ever give me credit for.

Regardless of how minor you and others think my points are - you simply from a legal perspective cannot have one rule for one and another rule for another.

With regards to your point concerning the "sticky thread" - its one thread - where all boxing scenes reports go on - why cant that be done for other websites - in otherwords if another site wants to promote their site or articles it goes on one thread rather than in the mainstream threads and thus diluting the very good work by boxrec and its reporters.

Spud - I've PMd you. As you now know, I've been offline since Thursday night.

I don't object to Nigel posting interviews - I would be a bit p'd off if he was posting links to fight reports before we had got them up after sending someone ringside but I don't think that is happening. I just think it's a bit regrettable that Nigel and HS Press don't really use the forum for any purpose other than self-advertising...especially as there's no reciprocation. Hey ho. When it gets to more than a couple of threads on the same bill/issue it looks a bit untidy or spam like.

As for the BS sticky, I'm sure others in our tiny little field must think I'm mental allowing a direct rival free, unreciprocated advertising. But I don't mind. If somebody other than Terry comes and runs tings for them, I might think again.

The only ones who I think shouldn't be able to use the forum for promotion are W*rren's mob because I have personally been banned by them (not Al personally, I don't think, more his press chap) for more than five years now and BoxRec News doesn't get credentials from them because we won't toe the line and lick their arse.

I hope Ian's post might put an end to it. Being editor of the News site and a mod on here I'm sure he is the most qualified to state what's acceptable or not.

It was a fantastic KO. I think it might have been KO of the year (domestic) if it wasn't for Frenkel vs Maccarinelli.

spud thinks i am responsible for doing what many have tried and failed to do - get him banned.

yes, excellent punch. very unexpected, sudden. not a crisp, great technical battle like crolla and morris. very rugged, very messy. but it seemed to get kirakosyan marked up, reaching and lunging in and walking right onto that left hook.

i thougth foster looked good the moment he stepped up to 130, against some frenchman i think. i was well impressed with his narrow defeat to arthur, starting sharply, getting a body beating in the middle stages and then roaring back to score a knockdown of arthur. chuffed that he's won something big at last.
