Mike Reed beats Sosa today. He lost 13-11 in the USA Finals, but he's not losing today. That's my prediction for the day. Sosa is tough, but he still doesn't beat Mike Reed tonight. Mike is on top of his game and after Zeddie Adams, Allan Russell and Robert Easter, beating Pedro would be a very impressive and tough road to the finals. Can't wait until tonight.NYAmateur90 wrote:Anyone see Marcus Browne vs DeRae Crane? Wouldn't expect 1st Rd. KO's at this point in the tournament...
Have any of the tournament fights been put on YouTube? I can't find any...
I think it'll be Amir Iman and Pedro Sosa in the Finals...Sosa is tough and I hear Iman is very good...
Nice to see Nisa Rodriguez and Christina Cruz doing there thing as well...

Marcus Browne caught DeRae Crane with a straight left flush on the button (chin) right away and DeRae went down. He got up but still looked wobbly. The ref let it go and DeRae tried to get his head clear and Marcus went for the stoppage. Marcus landed some more hard shots and hurt DeRae again and the bout was waved off.NYAmateur90 wrote:Anyone see Marcus Browne vs DeRae Crane? Wouldn't expect 1st Rd. I"m assuming your down there. I would really like to see Kenneth Simms bouts. He must have really sharpened his game since the JOs 4 months ago. I'm impressed and it will be a great showing if he wins tonight tomorrow. I pretty sure he's still 16 years old.Dennis wrote:Marcus Browne caught DeRae Crane with a straight left flush on the button (chin) right away and DeRae went down. He got up but still looked wobbly. Louie Byrd won tonight at 108 Just give him the Olympic team spot. King Louie is a beast. The. Finals for 132, 141, 152 and 165 are at midnight!!! They had semis at 11 this am. I really think they are doing these boxers an injustice with the way they are running this PAL. This is such an important tourny. Oh well. I'll keep updates coming.

Sorry if this is a stupid question but what does it mean to win a walk over over someone? I know that walk over typically means that there was no opponent but what about the results that say walk over but list an opponent? Does that mean that a boxer didn't make weight?Front Page Boxing wrote: I'm completing the results at http://frontpageboxing.com/amateurs/res ... ships.html

A walkover is another term for forfeiture but it can be for many reasons. i.e.: a boxer not making weight, medical injuries, no show, etc.erica057 wrote:Sorry if this is a stupid question but what does it mean to win a walk over over someone? Maybe if it was more specific such as a boxer not making weight.... it may motivate boxers to make weight! LOL

Re: 2010 PAL National Tournament Results *Please Post Here*
The reason there is a name listed is because both boxers weighed in (usually the morning of for a tournament) and were matched, but between the weigh-in and the bout, one boxer pulled out resulting in the "walker". In a tournament, when the brackets are done, you already know who is boxing against who. So, if one boxer can't go, even if a boxer doesn't weigh-in, they list the name. A "medical DQ" is due to the physician not allowing the boxer to box because of something found at the weigh-in physical evaluation.Front Page Boxing wrote:A walkover is another term for forfeiture but it can be for many reasons. i.e.: a boxer not making weight, medical injuries, no show, etc.erica057 wrote:Sorry if this is a stupid question but what does it mean to win a walk over over someone? Medical DQ isn't being identified anymore, everything.is.starting to fall under 'walkover'DCAmateurBoxing wrote:The reason there is a name listed is because both boxers weighed in (usually the morning of for a tournament) and were matched, but between the weigh-in and the bout, one boxer pulled out resulting in the "walker". Thanks! I was confused because the only tournament that I did (well, the only one where I got matched) was women's national golden gloves and we had to weigh-in before the brackets were made.DCAmateurBoxing wrote:The reason there is a name listed is because both boxers weighed in (usually the morning of for a tournament) and were matched, but between the weigh-in and the bout, one boxer pulled out resulting in the "walker". Re: 2010 PAL National Tournament Results *Please Post Here*
There were several different "walk over" reasons this past week: boxer had opponent who didn't show up; boxer had opponent who didn't make weight; boxer had opponent who was medically disqualified; boxer had opponent who wasn't a US citizen......
