There is the man, the boxer and the public image. All are different aspects. Hattons' family know him best; the fans liked his boxing style and lapped up his public image; (that will have been a mix of his true personality and bits that can be promoted well). Ricky has been caught out now that his boxing career is over; he was probably at the same sort of thing when he was champ and raking in the cash for all and sundry. I read that Max Cliffords main job is to keep stories out of the press.

Most celebs keep the dirt at bay by having a good public relations team behind them, ive read Clifford's book and like Simon said the vast majority of his work is keeping dirt out of the papers.

I can see the point you're making but bruno was clearly alot more mentally unstable than hatton is!Bi-polar which frank has is alot worse than just depression!Anyway you could always tell that there was something wrong with Frank in my eyes anyway ie the way he laughs is not a standard laugh,that laugh is a classic sign of bi-polar or manic depression or whatever you call it.

ok sorry if it appears im being an arsole towards you i dont mean to (i know it comes natural) but the same things you labelled at Ricky are the same for frank. They both have their excuses, both played as working class men of the people and turned out to be a bit different to the perceived personna once they retured and the truth comes out.
Is alcoholism not an illness also? Also alledgey frank was a bit ready with hands in the family home..at least i think thats what his ex wife accused...which in my mind is much worse than anything hatton has done.
