How old was Stuart Hall when he turned professional? Must have been pushing 30?

One of the local pros didier blanch was 35!!

Kovalev was about 26ish when he turned and his compatriot Beterbiev has only been pro a few years and he's 31 at the moment.

I'm 35, this thread gives me a bit of hope that it's not too late

Double medalist Lazlo Papp turned at 31.
On the other end of the scale, Andrew Flintoff was 35

Dwight Braxton. He was a street fighter with no amateur experience who had a pro fight after his first month in a boxing gym. I think he was 26

Satoshi Shimizu was 30 (has potential)
Amnat Ruenroeng was 32 (won a world title)
Manus Boonjumnong was 35 (2 time Olympic medal winner)

Luis ortiz clearly turned pro in his early 40s. Long amateur career though

I turned pro at 33years old and the Central Atea made it exceptionally hard (sparr at ingles gym with established pros). I was gonna have the 1 fight but thought I'd piss the Central area off more lol. Had 34 in the end two of them pro fights you can't call pro because although I trained five weeks and boxed in a full house Olympia Liverpool and collected a purse it was under MBC

This man made his pro debut at 38.

I think he was from a kickboxing background and fought at world level. He had his last fight at the age of 41, against an 18 year old debuting cello renda and was stopped in two rounds.

Mickey Rourke was almost 39 when he turned pro,and according to interviews with him at one point lined up for a WBO title shot.

Aye, fair play to him. Instead of boxing then acting, he did it the other way round. Not many have done that.

I've only seen his most recent fight. It looks like he didn't make the transition between the two at all.

Yes to say he was a decent level kickboxer is a understatement. If I'm not mistaken in over 200 fights he only lost around 5 times.. His first loss coming to one of the greatest Full Contact kickboxers of all time Lex Easdon. He was put down on I believe 5 or more occasions and kept getting up.. That to his detriment he ended up in hospital with some serious damage. To have continued fighting after never mind becoming a pro boxer shows the Warrior mentality of the man.. Some of the names mentioned on this had extensive amateur pedigree it's not the same as turning pro with next to no boxing experience

It was on the Khan-Fagan undercard, I even won money on it! I often forget fights but never forget a pound note!

I was to be fair.

Ray Mercer turned pro at 27.

Luis Ortiz and Lucas Browne both turned pro in there 30's.

Pretty sure Tony Thompson turned over in his late 20's.

Dennis Andries was supposedly 25 when he turned pro...although there's always been more than a rumour that Dennis was actually a good deal older and may have been fighting well into his 40s during his prime.

Dennis was born in Guyana and the registration system was apparently apparently a tad relaxed.
