Margarito will come to fight and will be giving Pacquiao plenty of openings, so Pacquiao will find him much easier to hit than Clottey. The more i think about this fight the more i'm leaning towards Pacquiao beating him into submission somehwere in the later half of the fight.

Very good point, Clottey was negative for much of his fight with Pacman, so you could well be right, Margarito doesn't really try to cover up much. His chin largely IS his defence.

I dont see margarito quitting, even against mosley where he got battered he still didnt quit and the ref had to step in and save him.Margarito isnt a guy that quits in the ring. You can call him alot of things but not a quitter.

Margarito absolutely ruined Cotto, almost certainly fighting with illegal hand wraps. Is anyone naive to believe that he only did it for the Mosley fight. He and his trainer should have been banned for life in my opinion.

Mosley didn't test positive for his fight with Margarito - and PED's isn't the same as having plaster in your hand wraps.

I hope Pacquaio destroys Margarito and finishes his career, he's a disgrace to boxing.

Cheating is bad enough, but cheating when it could finish your opponent's career like that means he should have got a lifetime ban.

I hope he gets smashed to pieces. The job Mosley did on him is one of my favourite bits of boxing in recent times.

X3 Cotto is my favourite none english fighter and that result should of been overturned off the back of the plaster in wraps saga.

While we are on the subject of Antonio Margarito and whether or not he struggles with Southpaws he did drop a 12 round decision against Paul Williams for the WBO Welterweight belt, but did once succeed in stopping Sergio Martinez though and was cut by Daniel Santos accidental headbutt and dropped the Technical Decision.

I maintain that it's not the southpaw stance so much as size, strength & intestinal fortitude that gives Margarito problems. He looked like he could barely hit Cotto with a handful of gravel until Cotto's always dodgy stamina came into play, & Cotto is both orthodox & pretty hittable (despite what some of his devotees upthread may have you believe); yet he landed easily enough at times on Williams (& to a lesser extent Santos). He just couldn't deal with either of them after he discovered he couldn't throw them about.

No but at his age, he knows that a loss here is the end of the road, if he's being battered senseless, he may decide to callm it aday or his corner might.

ok then, you could also say mosley almost certainly used PEDs in other fights than just the DLH rematch.

i'm not excited about pac v margarito. the last fight was terribly boring.

I think this isnt going to be boring whatever happens. Margarito is there to be hit. Pacquaio likes to hit people hard and often, hopefully I get to see Antonion's career end once and for all.

Marg got CAUGHT before the land any punches vs Mosley - that's quite significant for me. There are checks in place for such things. I do honest believe it was only the SSM fight that Margarito attempted to cheat.

Although for even contimplating doing that Marg deserves a lifetime ban from the sport - so does anyone caught doing PED (unless it is consistent with medical receipts for over the counter treatments and geniune naivity).

Cheating has in the past, and could do again result in the opponent losing his life..... Margarito deserves jail time for what he did.... so for that matter does SSM.
The only reason that Margarito was caught is because Mosley's trainer went to examine the hand wraps, and examine them closely.

Why would he not have done so for Cotto, given that Cotto was considered his biggest test to date?
I agree that what Margarito did was disgusting but I also think people who take PED'S are just as bad and my reasoning being that the argument with the handwraps is that they could end someones career and even kill somebody which is very true but on the same token PED's are just as bad because say if you have a clean boxer fighting a guy on PED's and its a real close fight and its the later rounds, the guy on the PED's is gonna have greater stamina which is going to give him the edge and he'll probably win the fight!Whilst that might not end the other fighters career from a physical perspective it damn sure could from a financial side of things and his marketability could be extremely damaged going off the loss which in boxing in particular is very much the case. Also say that the guy on PED's is also hitting harder than before, whats to say that he hits the clean boxer and the blow kills him through the extra power involved?!

There's only three outcomes i can see in this fight: 1) Margarito catches Pacquiao and takes him out, i'd give that a a 10% chance. 2) Pacquiao beats Margarito sensless and he either quits, his corner pulls him out, or the ref waves it off (i dont envision a clear cut KO). 3) Margarito withstands a 12 round beating and loses a lopsided UD.

I'm split on the last two, but the more i think about this fight, the more i lean towards Pacquiao stopping Margarito. There's no denying Margarito is one tough son of a b*tch and no quitter, but if Pacquiao is hitting him from every angle with constant crisp, clean shots, most of which he wont see comming, and he's not getting his own shots off, at some point something has to give. I'm thinking Pacquiao by stoppage between the 8th and 10th, thats my current prediction for the fight.

I would'nt give him much hope in a real fight with the PacMan, i think he's to chinny and would be KO'd, but in sparring where the idea is not to KO your oponent but to work on skills and conditioning, using heavier gloves and headgear, Khan could do well against the PacMan. Hopefully we'll get some solid reports comming out soon.
Khan wasn't with Roach before he fought Prescott so I think your off base there. Quality sparring for both

Yeah, in hindsight that should have been obvious. I actually took that information from a very recent article over on BS. I like the site as it has a fast news reel, but it does put out a lot of inaccurate BS. It seems to be getting worse and worse lately.

I think Khan has only sparred once with Manny and that was the time he first went over to the wildcard gym and freddie wanted to test him.Secondly other people have mentioned on this thread about him being rocked during sparring against Manny, well i dont think that happened,he has been rocked a fair few times though in sparring just generally at the wildcard from what ive heard.I think his punch resistance has improved at 140 but i still think he's suspect around the whiskers.

margarito definitely wore them in the cotto fight in my eyes the way his punches just wore cotto down and sucked the fight out of him, like many have said he should never be allowed in the ring again.

Cotto has not been the same since and its a shame that its down to that cheating ****.
